Re: Unable to load files after re-naming
"Ep 1 - Tom Taylor and Conan the Barbarian - edited version.aup" should now open if you rename "Ep 1 - Tom Taylor and Conan the Barbarian_data" to "Ep 1 - Tom Taylor and Conan the Barbarian - edited version_data" and have both the AUP and the _data folder in the same fo...

Re: Can't export Mp3
You can also export from Audacity as WAV and convert to MP3 in iTunes. See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Expor ... od#convert .

Re: Can't export Mp3
I am having the same error message, "Unable to open target file for writing". (I am trying export multiple tracks) I am not opening Audacity from the "DMG"; I open it from a folder within the applications folder. I am not sure what you are referring to with the suggestions about...

Re: Export in batch .wav 32 bits PCM
Can OGG contain samples below -96 dB? I should probably rephrase that. Lossy audio files are better described as a stream of calculations rather than containing samples, so the question would be if OGG can contain audio below -96 dB. The answer seems to be "no". The OGG encoder "calc...

Re: I need help merging recorded electronic drum tracks
I got perfect quality in this cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqwbvKMz4z4&feature=youtu.be You're pretty good. :) I can appreciate that track a bit more than the last one. 1. Alesis Drum set's MIX IN to iMic's OUT, Alesis Drum set's OUTPUT to (SPLIT WITH HEADPHONES) iMic's IN 2 Open audac...

Re: Gain versus Amplify
I assumed we were talking about the Gain slider on the Track Control Panel: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/au ... .html#gain .DVDdoug wrote:Maybe I'm not being that bright either... I don't seem to have a "Gain" effect.
If not, I don't know either... .

Re: RECORD VINYL TO COMPUTOR
@MUSICMAN1 let me know if you can whether this document they provided about Audacity 1.2 was a printed book or what it was. That's not good, especially if they actually provided the 2.0.3 Manual as well.

Re: Gain versus Amplify
The benefit is in experimental or live changes - you can change gain (or pan) while playing and adjust in real time so that the playback does not clip in Meter Toolbar . Another benefit of gain or pan is that disk space is not used until you Tracks > Mix and Render to write the changes to disk and w...

Re: Recommended phono - usb converter for Windows 7
Gale Andrews: As far as I can see, the settings for recording are those recommended in the help pages 'Microphone (USB Audio CODEC)' - I don't recognise the phrase 'not recording it from stereo mix' - could you explain? I meant, to make sure in the third (input) box of Audacity's Device Toolbar tha...

Re: RECORD VINYL TO COMPUTOR
"Our" Audacity Manual can also be thought of as a "software guide". And some users make your complaint even about "our" Manual, because they can't find the Tutorial. I can almost understanding users not finding the Manual - but once they have it the front page very nea...
