Re: Skipping in Mavericks
When you made playback more demanding by playing while recording, the problem went away. Please try making audio playback more "demanding" by drastically reducing audio to buffer (see http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=238902#p238902 ) . I know you tried 50 ms but please try 5, ...

Re: 'Effect' screwed up
Thanks for looking at this but - respect - I don't think your ideas have any bearing on this problem They were (and still are) by far the most likely explanation, based on the information you have given. All files (.mp3, .aup) are now compromised by any Effect operation - I have been chuntering thr...

Re: Can't record streaming
That's funny. I downloaded the version of Soundflower mentioned higher in thread, and it works. Just not with Audacity. The program just doesn't recognize the sound. You mean, it records silence (a flat line)? Are you sure you are following everything on http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutoria...

Re: Skipping in Mavericks
I brought my MacBook Pro (10.8.2) on-line with Audacity 2.0.5 in a conventional install. Generate > Tone. I don't see (or hear) any stuttering, snapping or any other bad playback. Did you mean 10.8.2 or 10.9.2, Koz? I wondered what those flash beach balls were. They don't animate which is a little ...

Re: Custom ringtone
I thought since the audacity directions talked in a whole section about how to do custom ringtones that you might help me getting it to my phone. There is much in the forum about how to get music to Iphones, Itunes, I thought you would help. I can see how you might think that, Keith, but if the 'ph...

Re: VST Plugins Not Showing Up - Audacity 2.0.5 - Windows 7
Hello all, I just installed Audacity 2.0.5 with the installer. I then copied vst-bridge.dll and GSnap.dll to C:Program Files (x86)AudacityPlug-Ins [...] Am I doing something wrong? Audacity has not used VST Bridge since version 1.3.9, so that is redundant. If you saw the dialogue for "Install ...

Try labels: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html . CTRL + M to add a label at the current playback or recording position.

Re: Audacity won't start up on Windows 8
To begin with, try reinstalling Audacity with "Reset Preferences" enabled half way through the installation process, as described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#reset . Just deleting AppDataRoamingAudacity should do the same thing, but not if ...

Re: Request "mono" and "optimal output" on MP3 export screen
What GUI changes occur if "Lame default" is checked? Well it's only a Gimp mock-up, so it could be anything that we want. I'd imagine that it would grey out everything apart from the Force mono/Force stereo options. What do you think would be most useful? My original idea was that everyth...

Re: Skipping in Mavericks
Playing while recording is much more demanding than just playing. Again it seems that Audacity needs a more demanding setting. Try "Audio to buffer" again in the Recording Preferences. Set it to 5 ms. It will probably fail to play. Take it upwards in 5 ms increments from there. You could e...
