Re: Request "mono" and "optimal output" on MP3 export screen

Personally I have no interest in the 128/64 kbps option. I have only included that option to please others and to try and get some movement on "bug 285" that has been out in the long grass for over three years. Well, if everyone only coded or supported things they were personally interest...

Re: Recommended phono - usb converter for Windows 7

Thanks, suffolkman for the update. It took me a little while longer to get the volume settings working (the Phono plus unit's 'gain' control HAS to be set to its minimum (-10db) and even then the input slider on Audacity needs to be right down to around 0.1), but eventually I got a halfway decent re...

Re: Request "mono" and "optimal output" on MP3 export screen

Slightly modified suggestion: Lame default bit rate (128 / 64 kbps CBR) It should say "joint stereo" for 128 and "mono" for 64 kbps. "Lame default bit rate" option is a check box. "Number of channels" options are radio buttons. Lame default bit rate (128 / 64...

Re: Correcting line level audio track

Probably not. Do Nikon say this is suitable for recording a full rock band or symphony orchestra? What is the exact model number? Does it have a headphones out that you could connect to the mixer? Try posting a sample of the audio to be "corrected". See: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewt...

Re: Trying to record Adobe Reader "Read Out Loud"

OS is Windows Home Premium No it isn't. Do you mean Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows Vista Home Premium? I just can't figure out the settings to get it to work. Did you read the link you were given: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_audio_playing_on_the_computer.html ? If yes...

Re: Cannot record from music program

Do you mean your built-in audio device is SoundMax? Audio drivers are important. You should not necessarily ignore warnings. Is that warning just when you play a MIDI file? Audio drivers should be matched with your sound device. Drivers should be obtained from the computer manufacturer if you have a...

Re: Audacity Sluggish and Often "Not Responding"

1) Sometimes, SOMETIMES, everything works quickly and smoothly. 2) There is a large amount of hard drive activity when Audacity slows down or freezes up. Current Audacity is slow (at least on Windows) when there is more than an hour of audio, especially if the audio is in multiple tracks. If the ha...

Re: How to make Audacity "CoolEdit like"

Why is Cool Edit/Audition forbidden? Only the OP can answer that but lots of people think Adobe are basically charging for CoolEdit without actually supporting it. Audacity is designed as a single user production package for home music, not a large file management program for an international news ...

Re: Skipping in Mavericks

I want to loop back to capturing some of these pops. Do you have any other recorder available such as your cellphone Personal Sound Recorder? My iPhone has a Voice Memos app, but i don't think it's possible to get the files off the phone, or that they could be played anywhere if I could. Cable from...
