On Windows 8.1 which I am using at the moment (without a separate CD burning program installed) although it asks the first time you send to the drive if you want to burn "like a music CD or a USB flash drive", if I choose the music CD option it burns a data CD anyway. After that it doesn't...

My computer is already set for "Best performance of programs". I don't know enough about how it works to change the Priority. Windows says that changing the priority may cause instability. Try it. If you don't have many other programs and services running, it should not cause instability....

It was originally a mp3 of a voice over that I converted to a wav file so that I could edit using audacity because I kept getting an error message when trying to import the file as an mp3. I would be lazy and use Effect > Repeat... . It shows you the new length of the selection after the repeats.
