Re: Basic recording problem

I was typing the same time as waxcylinder so to finish off, Audacity is a multi-track editor so all Audacity tracks on the screen play mixed together. You should not delete the Audacity track unless you are completely happy with the exported file for that track. To hear only the new or latest Audaci...

Re: bug with the "Pause" button

Have you tried turning off Transport > Sound Activated Recording: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tr ... u.html#sar ?

Should this be in the main Help part of the Forum? Are you French? What version of Windows or Mac do you have?

Re: Audacity Sluggish and Often "Not Responding"

this program does require alot of ram when running effect especially if you are running an effect over the entire project That is only true for Nyquist effects (and it affects some of those more than others). It is not a serious problem for built-in effects. Waiting for the waveform to redraw after...

Re: Audio removed from track

I have already used the mass renaming tool to sort the AU files within the d folders. I have just used the recovery tool on the first d folder and this is what it gave me. This is supposed to be me and my brother talking, instead it sounds like something out of a bad sci-fi movie. If this means any...

Re: Left channel recording to both channels

Currently the only Audacity setting that determines the number of channels recorded is the last box in Device Toolbar .

Have you checked that Windows is set to stereo for this device:

Re: Audacity For Windows Mobile?

We have no current plans (or resources) to develop a WinRT version of Audacity. This would be required to run on Windows RT (the ARM-based version of Windows that the Surface RT uses). Also WinRT applications (even those written for x86 Desktop versions of Windows as found on laptops and desktops) h...

Re: Can't use any menu items

You actually can use File > Recent Files to open files when playing (and even when recording) so that is not the cause. Have you already imported a very long file when this problem happens? Or does something else cause it, like opening an effect or a dialogue? Are you using Unity, Gnome fallback or ...
