Re: First 5 seconds of Export buzzing

I have an AUP project and exported MP3 this problem, if anyone would like to hear or play with it. By all means if can you post a link to the project, Ken, we'll look at it. Set it up so that with Real-time dither set to "None" and High-Quality dither set to "Shaped", you can he...

Re: Missing Microseconds-Option in "Selection Timeline"

As Joe Jack says, you can exactly select 11,12, 13 ... microseconds in 1.x. Set 100000 Hz Default Sample Rate (just so you can navigate microseconds easier), generate a tone, zoom in to maximum, press HOME, then drag with your mouse or nudge the cursor using RIGHT arrow and look at the Status Bar. ...

Re: New "Tools" Menu

BUMP In order for this to move forward (if thought appropriate) it is probably necessary to develop a Wiki Proposal ... I do not propose to transfer this to Wiki > PFR I've archived it as there is some discussion here about what should go in the Tools Menu (if we have one). I've already made a note...

Re: Missing Microseconds-Option in "Selection Timeline"

"I presume that you realise that Audacity 1.x can't actually measure microseconds?" -Wrong. At 96000 Hz sample rate, 1 sample period is 10.41666666.. microseconds. Select 1 sample, that just over 10 microseconds. Select 2 sample and that's about 21 microseconds. You can't select 11, 12, 1...

Re: Audacity 'pauses' on any editing

Where is the directory for the projects you are working on? If these are unsaved projects, where is the Audacity temporary directory? You can check the temporary directory at Audacity > Preferences: Directories. Network drives can be slow. How much space is on these drives while the project is open?...

Re: Unable to switch from built in mic to line input

Yes I do have those connections Which connections? The separate line-in and headphones out? Are you sure you have the latest Audacity 2.0.5 from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/mac ? Check your version at Audacity > About Audacity. In 2.0.5 you should be able to choose Line-in in Audacity's ...

I am not sure if you mean this, but from 2.0.3 onwards you can activate toolbar buttons in Audacity by pressing ENTER on your keyboard.

You can use the Noise Gate plug-in to remove dither from passages that should be silent.

Re: Why does the whole file not get exported?

Hi Steve. Problem solved. Audacity exported the whole file when a placed the file at the desktop. Thank you so much :-) The only explanation I can see for that is that your USB drive is full or corrupted. Audacity will export a shortened file if there is not enough space, whatever the type of drive...

Re: Using noise removal

Thank you for the replies, I will look into those links. I've been too lazy to update and am still using 1.3. If so, please update, as we cannot offer personal support for 1.2 or 1.3 (see the pink panel at the top of this page). Is it known that the noise removal may be more effective or easier to ...
