Re: equalize levels on skype recording

kuchinskas wrote:oh, that's too bad. I love audacity.
Audacity can't record Skype because Skype is two sources, your mic and the other person.

There is no decent workaround to using Audacity to record Skype with a USB headset.

Re: Need help trimming silence at end of tracks

It seems that many of the files I've ripped from CDS have unnecessarily long silences at the end and I find myself trimming it off over and over again. I tried the Truncate Silence effect to see if I could automate the process but it doesn't seem to work very well for what I want it to do. Describe...

Re: First 5 seconds of Export buzzing

Thanks, Ken.

Could you try 2.0.2 again? I want to be clear in 2.0.2 if the export is crackly a) if you don't swap the track positions (b) if you do swap positions. Don't worry about whether you play the project before export or not.

Thanks,

Re: Feature request: "Goto" in Label Editor

I'm guessing most people especially VI users use Label Editor to navigate to labels so won't want an extra command to go to a label. My reasoning is that if one wanted to edit a label without changing the (possibly unlabled and not locked) current region, the Label Editor ought to be a place where ...

Re: transcriptions?

I found the AUP file, but it contains only the audio. I don't recall doing the "save project" thing If you have an AUP file then you either did File > Save Project... or you said "Yes" to "Save Changes?" when you quit Audacity . I assume you were typing the transcripti...

Re: Problem with playback speed control in Audacity 2.0.5

Why couldn't that feature have just been turned off in the Linux version of Audacity, and not in the Windows or Mac versions? The explanation by Gale was the very brief summary version of the issue. There were multiple issues involved and crashing on Linux was the visible tip of the iceberg. The in...

Re: transcriptions?

I found Audacity because I was looking for an app that would help me listen to an audio file and write the transcript of a conversation (two or three people speaking). I started doing the transcription, and it worked fine. But then I shut down the computer, and this morning I can't find ANY of the ...

Re: Problem with playback speed control in Audacity 2.0.5

Thanks for the reply, Gale. Why couldn't that feature have just been turned off in the Linux version of Audacity, and not in the Windows or Mac versions? Having to tab over to that button and click it every time is a pain. Because the developers wanted the same behaviour on all three platforms. I d...

Re: WAV extension not saving when exported from 2.0.5

Don't put periods (dots) in the file name you are exporting to, unless you add the period (dot) and WAV extension yourself at the end of the file name. Make Windows show extensions for known file types so you can see what the extension is. This is explained in more detail here: http://manual.audacit...
