Re: Audacity won't open aup. file
The file name looks very similar to this, march23rd_data... Does that mean that the _data file is saved with the aup. audio file? There is no such thing as a _data file. There is an AUP file (which is just text, not audio) and a _data folder that has exactly the same name as the AUP file. You attac...

Re: Exporting Mulitiple Tracks are not lined up
Moderator note: "Bouncing" is a term that means saving or exporting in some other audio software. I Have lots of tracks that aren't lined up from start to end in audacity and I can't figure out how to make them longer or keep them on time when bouncing down multiple tracks to mix in a dif...

Re: Problem getting Audacity files out of Dropbox
The problem is I didn't put the project in a zip file before sending it. You don't absolutely have to use ZIP. If you actually have a way to download a folder from a server, which I think you can on dropbox, then you could just move the AUP file and the _data folder to the server, then download the...

Re: Low samplerate audio sounds lowpassed?
Would there be any way to record the DAC output using an ADC and preserve the "harmonics above the Nyquist frequency"? As far as I can tell, none of your (unfaked) recordings have the required harmonics, is that correct? No, that is not correct. As far as I know, the recordings I've previ...

Re: How to Decipher echo from a recorded voice?
I have the exact sound I am asking. I transferred it to Audacity from those old TDK cassette tape D-60 to see if it works in audacity. This TDK cassette tape has recorded talk so delicious ECHO as if an Angel or heavenly person is talking - has an ECHOED sound-which is clear & excellent voice t...

Re: Low samplerate audio sounds lowpassed?
After reading the wiki article on dacs( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital-to-analog_converter ), I think it comes down to the reconstruction filter. This is what I was talking about initially: The fact that DACs output a sequence of piecewise constant values (known as zero-order hold in sample d...

Re: Problem getting Audacity files out of Dropbox
I tried to used Dropbox to transfer the files, but when I retrieved them they're all broken up into hundreds of tiny files that I have no idea how to put back together again. Projects work in just the same way when transferring them to another computer. That is you need to open the AUP file, not th...

Re: Anybody able to make "AutoTalent" appear?
I also noticed there are other pitch correction apps available that might also be open source, like VocPro, Vocalist and KeroVee. As far as I can tell, Vocalist Live and VocPro are hardware. KeroVee is not open source. It has the usual issues when used in Audacity that the tuned note will be time-s...

If it still helps...I ran into this problem as well and found this thread. I downgraded to Audacity 2.0.3 and all is well. Mac Pro OS X Lion (10.7.5) Audacity 2.0.6 DMG installer In my case, I would attempt to play back 48k/24-bit WAV files recorded on a Zoom H4N in Audacity 2.0.6, and I would hear...

Re: Recording dropouts
If you are getting small little fragments of the recording missing, there could be a number of fixes for that. See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#skips . If blocks of audio six seconds long keep completely disappearing, choose Edit > Preferences, then "...
