Re: Audacity 'pauses' on any editing
I managed, with some discipline, to avoid alt-tabbing which meant that Audacity has been mostly behaving. But over the past few days it's been lagging again, and after checking Activity Monitor, it appears that the guilty CPU-hogging process is mdu_stores. I've tried disabling it (there's a common ...

Re: Voice (source) live forwarding *request*
Your vote will be counted. You should use Audition or some other real-time DAW in the meantime. It is possible to record real-time effects in Audacity by recording the output of a real-time VST effect host sent by a virtual cable, but you have the additional requirement of streaming the audio to OBS...

Re: Sliding Time Scale Help
Does it sound OK irrespective of the "gap"? You are only seeing the gap (which is a split line) because you are zoomed into the maximum possible level. If you don't like seeing the gap, merge the two clips by clicking on the black vertical line on the right edge of the "gap", or ...

Re: Audacity stuck in Automatic recovery mode
When you start Audacity, does the Automatic Crash Recovery dialogue appear, like this? http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/images/c/c4/CrashRecovery.png If you don't want to recover the recording, press "Do Not Recover" in that dialogue, or open Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder and type: ~/Li...

Re: Voice (source) live forwadring *request*
Moved to "Adding Features". To capture the Mic is possible. Like I understand, Audacity is editing stuff from a hard drive. But to "add" a mode to put the Mic voice into RAM, edit it there (just noise cancellation effect for the start), and send the edited data to a new audio har...

On a Mac use COMMAND instead of CTRL for all those shortcuts I mentioned, so COMMAND + ALT + K to split delete and so on. Here is a complete list of shortcuts: http://manual.audac...

Re: Recording dropouts
I am trying to record the audio stream from a local LA based radio station on my laptop computer. I am only using the soundcard that is built into the motherboard. Thanks. We still don't know how you are recording that stream. What input do you select in Audacity's Device Toolbar ? Are you listenin...

Re: Record using presets
I'll treat this as a vote for "real-time effects" in Audacity, unless you say you don't want your vote to be "counted". This is our most popular request, but it is a big change for Audacity and may not ever happen.
