Re: Incorrect Audacity install!
Ok so I downloaded the dmg and did not read the warning about not to install from the dmg ! The warning is about not running Audacity from the DMG: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=75660 . So I no longer have any audio on my mac running 10.9.2 so how do I get back control of m...

Re: Poor quality recording of YouTube
Audacity records what you give it. Built-in (motherboard) audio and video card are all that most entry level computers have. You did not give the make and model number of your computer. At a guess, you probably recorded YouTube with the built-in microphone on your machine. You can read how to record...

Re: Ineed the lamen or basic instructions 2 getting started
Eddy suggested that Audacity might be able to help with that, putting some kind of instrument in it or sumin like that. Audacity doesn't create instruments. Normally you would find an instrumental WAV file, and sing an appropriate song to the beat of that instrumental using overdub. Then you don't ...

Re: Sliding Time Scale Help
I don't think it's easy to do if you are trying to apply the second time scale from higher pitch to original anywhere over the area from 2.5 s to 2.6 s. Really Sliding Time Scale wants an envelope or graph. Although not what you want, I got a believable result by selecting 2.7 s to 3.25 s, Edit > Fi...

Re: Ineed the lamen or basic instructions 2 getting started
Overdubbing, what is that? Record one track, then play and listen to the first track while recording the next one. I just wanted to see if after I record my song that magically the instrumental part will show up. Well with help by putting it there, I think? My friend Eddy said that it should be abl...

Re: Maya44 usb card 4 ch recording
I have the MAYA44 usb card, which operate OK for 4 ch recording with Windows XP. Recently I switch to Windows 7 ,32 bit . Now I can record only 2 ch ! I would expect ESI devices to be able to record more than two simultaneous channels, as per http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Multichannel_Recording#...

Re: Meter doesn't run
Did you mean clicking 'pause-record-pause'? I have already recorded several lp's, and the meter had a flat line if I just hit the 'pause-record-pause button without connecting (properly) the recordplayer. Nothing happens now, just flickering. What type of record player - does it connect via USB cab...

Re: Echoes when recording overdub
Thanks Koz, Got it in one! My problem is now fixed, your last suggestion worked perfectly, no box was ticked :) If software playthrough was causing echoes to be recorded as you suggest, that can only mean you are recording the wrong input (or not using headphones, or sending Audacity playback from ...
