Make sure that Transport > Sound Activated Recording does not have a tick (checkmark) by it. If it does, click the item to turn it off: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tr ... u.html#sar .

Re: First 5 seconds of Export buzzing

I can reproduce the problem — in either Audacity 2.0.3 or 2.0.5. Thanks, Koz. Can you also try 2.0.2 ( http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-2.0.2.zip )? 2.0.2 does not have the problem for me, but does for Ken. If you close and reopen the project then export WAV, do any of 2.0.2,...

Re: Mic takes awhile to warmup?

I recently got a Logitech H540 USB headset. And since getting the headset it takes 5-10 seconds to "warm up" when recording with Audacity. For example: I hit record and start speaking, the audio is really quiet for a few seconds and slowly gets louder until it is normal. The only thing I ...

Re: recording in stereo on 2i2, win 8.1, shure pg58, usb inp

It might do that after you split stereo tracks to mono. If you have a left-only stereo show and make an MP3, it will make an MP3 with you on the left side. If so I suggest you close one of the tracks with the [X] button and make sure it's mono using the Track Drop-Down Menu from the black arrow. A ...

Re: Having problems recording with Samson C01U

The C01U used to need drivers, if I remember correctly, but apparently newer version of Windows should already have a compatible one. On older operating systems you had to install the buggy SoftPre applet. Make sure you do not have Soft Pre by going to Uninstall Programs in the Windows Control Pane...

Re: First 5 seconds of Export buzzing

I have the draft zip. How do I tell if the Project starts before zero? Thanks, Koz. "Before zero" is not a reported problem. The issue in Ken's project that causes playback problems is that the upper track's audio does not start at zero (if you zoom out you can see the first track does no...

I think it's a minor defect of that compressor that it can "bloat" the start or end of the selection.

Re: bizarre recording speed change

I'm using Audacity 2.0.2 on a WinXPPro computer. 2.0.2 is now obsolete so I suggest you update to 2.0.5 in any case. The next track I record sounds like it's been speeded up. It sounds like it's running at about 120% normal speed...the "Mickey Mouse" effect - not as fast as "Alvin an...
