Re: Distributing right and left channels
Use the Track Drop-Down Menu to Split Stereo Track (or Split Stereo to Mono). Panning mono tracks is probably easier to control without getting too extreme a pan. Many would lay down one mono track, turn on Transport > Overdub, then record a second mono track while playing the first, then pan both t...

Re: Mic recording fades in [SOLVED]
The only thing I can suggest is to look in "Sound" in System Preferences. Choose the "Input" tab and if you see it, ensure that "Use ambient noise reduction" is unchecked. Thanks. There actually was no "Use ambient noise reduction" checkbox... until I switche...

I am trying to record audio using a USB adapter, to my Macbook. The adapter has a mic-line in and a stereo line out, which goes to my sound system. PROBLEM: I am only getting mono audio. (I do not have a direct line in for 3.5mm audio, so I have to use an adapter.) I called the company and they did...

Re: Need pointers on adding feature to search pattern
I don't know if per chance an alpha version between 2.0.0 and 2.01 with this feature is available and compatible with your OS. You could uninstall your package of Audacity 2.0.0 then install the "2.0.5+" Audacity version for Ubuntu 12.04 from https://launchpad.net/~audacity-team/+archive/...

Re: How to get reverb effect in Ubuntu 12:04/
Ubuntu 12.04 will be unsupported by Canonical from the 17th April onwards. These days, Ubuntu tend to suggest using partitions rather than the Wubi installer, and backing up data then installing the new Ubuntu version over the old, rather than using the updater to upgrade to the new version when the...

Re: use audacity 2.0.5 to meet following requirements
I have followed your steps and recorded the audio accordingly. How should I check whether the sound recorded by me is matching the specifications. If you right-click over the file > Properties, Windows may or may not confirm the bit depth. You can see the sample rate in Hz if you import the file in...

Re: High Frequency Noise/Whistle in Background [SOLVED]
When I take the laptop out into the living room and do a recording the noise is gone. I wonder if it is because my Pocket Wifi is in the room. Yes perfectly possible. Any source of electromagnetic interference ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_interference ) could cause it. I marked t...

Re: Can't save in MP3 anymore
See here for more information http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... extensions . Almost certainly you added a dot in the file name. If you want to do that, add ".mp3" (without quotes) at the end of the file name before you save it.

Re: Cyclic digital noise in all recordings
I am having the exact same problem with the same set-up. Have you figured it out yet? I have not tried another computer or USB hub. There is no option for a power supply on the unit. If the noise is coming from the computer's power supply, that's really stupid of Tascam to not offer the option. Thi...

Thanks. Well EchoPrint ( http://echoprint.me/ ) is open source but the EchoNest API apparently isn't. So it doesn't look like your app could be open source.sihirar wrote:It finds the key by using the API of EchoNest.
