Re: trying to record 78 rpm records, horrible audio.
So if I get the item you linked above, will I still need the preamp I have right now? Or does it do it for me all-in-one. You probably don't need your pre-amplifier if you are connecting out of the headphones port of the turntable. Probably you just want the Behringer UCA 202 with a new cable that ...

Re: timeline
Is it possible to show the timeline as the 'actual time of the day', ie have the start of the session show (for example) "12:11:40" rather that having it start as "0"?? (using version 2.1.2 on Windows 7) What would the Timeline show if you record a track, and then record another...

Re: recording internally
THANKS I ll have to remember that ... sterio tracks to mono before you export .... One last thing... I notice that the recording slider is dead and it says use the .... system mixer .... ! where is the ... system mixer ? Is this when recording with Windows WASAPI loopback? If so, that can happen on...

Re: Microphone volume slider is setting itself to 0
It's good that you have updated motherboard audio drivers from HP, though they won't be directly relevant to your problem now you have told us you are recording with a USB recording device. What device is that exactly (make and model number)? Is it a USB turntable, or a USB phono interface for a sta...

Re: Listening audio to and fro on Audacity
OK, that seems to be it. Thanks. But I get noises that are not from the audio track. Why is that and how do I control it? What kind of noises? A click when playback starts or reverses direction? Or is the sound generally "choppy"? You could try the latest 2.1.3-alpha development build fro...

Re: trying to record 78 rpm records, horrible audio.
That does sound like it because as soon as I connect and record it, the input bar spikes all the way up to the red instantly. The only possible workaround is to right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose "Recording Devices". Right-click over the external mic then c...

Re: Audacity won't launch. Help.
It's best to post a new reply rather than edit an old post. The index page for each Forum board does not show us that a post has been edited, so we might literally never see the new information you added. UPDATE: Ah! I was right! I went into the Device Manager, temporarily disabled every device with...

Re: recording internally
I prefer getting mono because I get a feed from the computor earphone socket into a small music centre with one speaker plugged in the music centre lets me record bits and pieces onto cassette tape but maybe when I record in audacity and then save to a mp3 file it will get both sides in there ! MP3...

Re: Everything I record sounds like it was recorded in a tin
Not sure why, but every thing I record sounds like it was recorded in a tin can (muffled with slight echo.) I tried recording from multiple sources ("Windows primary audio" device, my MoBo audio, even my webcam.) All recordings sound the same. :( Normal playback is fine. Recording Setting...
