Re: how to use
I guess sequah means they purchased a USB cassette recorder or turntable. If so please read http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recording_with_usb_turntables.html . Ensure you do the first step "Ensure the Audacity software is up to date" first, or the instructions may make no sense. Gale

Re: How do I name a track from a batch file.
Merged your duplicate topics. I am starting and stopping a recording using a batch file (.au3) . Every start creates a new track. If you don't like that, Pause/Unpause or Append Record to the selected tracks instead. How can I name the track from the batch file? Here is the link you need: http://www...

Re: "side-by-side configuration is incorrect" error with 2.0
I followed these instructions from a MicroSoft Office Access support page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2525435 I followed my Event Viewer error log as hints and edited the registry and made sure that "Microsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest" file was pointed to the matching version; 9.0.30729.1 i...

Re: Skipping in Mavericks
If you receive crackle in Audacity, then create a song in GarageBand and play the song there, does that also crackle? I hadn't tried it 'till just now. Yes it does crackle and, guess what? Turning the wi-fi off makes it stop. Hmm. Sorry, but I think you should move this saga to the Apple Forums now...

Re: How to import a video into Audacity (to create a voiceov
Using Windows XP (gulp!) Yes. If you cannot upgrade to later Windows or don't want to try Linux, make sure at least that you have XP updated to Service Pack 3. The Service Packs are still available from Microsoft. I'm trying to create a voiceover for a video, and I was wondering if there is a way t...

Re: Audacity 2.0.5 installation problem on XP
Yes! All I had to do was delete the audacity.cfg file, move your audacity.txt file in that folder, rename it to .cfg, and start the audacity2.0.5 that I had already downloaded and tried to start before. Before this fix, I got the error immediately after okaying the one time notice window of setting...

Re: Wav files won't play
I have a Zoom H2 recorder and I normally record in MP3 format at 16 bit due to my file sizes, I forgot to change it over and it defaulted to WAV. When I uploaded to audacity it will not play the file. I hit play and it won't do anything. I tried to export and reinsert the file as a MP3, but there i...

Re: local manual link not working
I decided there are not enough hours in the day and the program is relatively unimportant to me so I have put a link on my desktop to the index.html file which, as this seems to open the manual without any problem, will be adequate. Good. The only other suggestion I was about to make is that you co...
