Re: local manual link not working
Running a decent, up-to-date anti-virus program means that there will be few additional threats through using XP. For example, unless you are on at least XP Service Pack 2 there is no Data Execution Prevention . If there is a so-called zero day attack which is hitherto unknown, built in operating s...

Re: How to import a video into Audacity (to create a voiceov
I didn't necessarily say that I need Audacity to be a video editor; rather, Audacity should have the option to play a video so I can record along with it. I'll count your vote for that - it's quite a common request. after I edit the audio, I can save it and import it into a real video editor. Most ...

Re: How do I name a track from a batch file.
Are you suggesting that that location would be a better place in which to ask the question? You got it. ;) The exact syntax you need would depend on the specific macro program. We've told you the key presses to rename the focused track. If you need to move the focus to another track, use UP arrow o...

Re: automation in audacity
i'm using audacity as a sort of DAW. It isn't really a DAW in the same way as full DAW's. can i do automation with audacity, like changing cutoff frequency over time? If you are asking for real-time effects, no. You can make duplicate tracks with different cutoffs, then turn on Envelope Tool . Then...

Re: how to use
Sorry, I don't think I explained things correct. I bought the cassette tape converter, to plug into my laptop, which has windows7. Then assuming the converter connects to the computer by USB cable, please read the link I already gave you: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recording_with_usb_turn...

Re: Cannot enter selection start/end manually
It works for Delete, but not Destructive Backspace. That's a Mac-ism. I think you are not seeing a Mac-ism but the documented keyboard behaviour in Selection Toolbar ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_selection.html#Selection_Toolbar ): BACKSPACE Reset the last digit entered to zero So...

Re: Cannot enter selection start/end manually
I'm using Audacity 2.0.5 on Windows 7 x64 SP1. Whenever I enter the start/end times of a selection manually (i.e., by typing the hh:mm:ss in the fields at the bottom) and then select an operation (e.g., trim or export selection) the selection start/end times are immediate reset to the start and end...

Re: Sound card disappeared from rec & play options
after an update, I cannot select my sound card in Audacity. After an update of what, exactly? Did you see your multichannel device previously in Audacity, with Pulse already removed? "sysdefault" does work but I have a quality card and want to be sure I'm getting the best capture (for mus...
