Re: Disappearing Labels

Save the project to a Dropbox folder that syncs with other computers. What happens if you don't do that? Forget about syncing files. Do your steps, but save the project and export the label track to a local file that other applications don't have access to? If the steps then don't reproduce, could ...

Re: Anyone used audacity to record from multiple radio stati

Recording multiple on-line radio stations at the same time on the same computer has no chance of working unless you are able to play multiple on-line radio stations at the same time on the same computer while keeping the audio streams separate. I doubt that it is possible to do that on Windows. I h...

Re: Disappearing Labels

Argh, I wish it were possible to edit my previous posts! When you become an "established" user with more approved posts, you will be able to edit. "I don't use the following characterset" should read "I use only the following character set": letters, numbers, spaces, a...

Re: Disappearing Labels

I open the txt files in notepad++, do a few regular expression search and replaces to change the formatting, then import them into excel for my analysis. Then do it on a copy of the file. If you have a special program that is doing unwanted file synchronisations on unrelated files you may be able t...

Re: "side-by-side configuration is incorrect" error with 2.0

I'll just post here that someone else who reported the "Activation context generation" error (even after installing the redistributable pack) told me they solved it by running Audacity as administrator. If so, it would be safer than editing the registry. Does the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE...

Re: Alignment probem exporting and importing

I also tried exporting as audacity project. When I import it back into audacity it is still messed up. You cannot export and import Audacity projects. If you save and reopen an Audacity project, track alignment should not change, even if you save a "compressed copy" of the project which e...

Re: records in mono, or too loud

I tried using the headphone socket (as per usual I tried the simplest solution last). Works fine ! You mean the headphone socket of the amp? Windows XP does not have any way set the sound device to stereo or mono, unless you are talking about the sound device's own control panel. What is the make a...

Re: is JACK recommend with Audicity??

The main issue with PulseAudio is that Audacity may freeze when starting or stopping the audio stream (starting or stopping Record or Playback). My understanding is that this is a bug in PortAudio's support for libpulse or libasound. If so, it should be followed up with PortAudio. I've never seen t...
