Re: Audio pop when pressing play
After it has made its pop I can playback without these pops (as long as I'm not in the middle of a non-zero crossing point) but after a while, when playback has been stopped for half a minute or so, Audacity makes this popping sound again (by itself, without any user interaction), and the next time...

Re: Lost audio files
Or do you mean you opened the AUP files in Audacity and there was no audio (just a flat line). Were there errors displayed when opening the project? Did you look in Help > Show Log... ? If you need to piece together the AU files without the AUP file, here is the best link for you: http://wiki.audaci...

Re: Compressing aud projects
If these files are for yourself (rather than sending them to someone else) you shouldn't use Audacity projects, OGG (which you can't play in iTunes without installing extra decoders) or zip files. Zip files will not give worthwhile compression if the audio format is already compressed like MP3 and O...

Re: Behringer UCA202 and Pioneer mixer issue
From frequent reports on the forum, the usual Windows behaviour on plugging in a USB device would appear to be: 1) Set number of recording channels to 1 (mono). Presumably because Windows is assuming that a (mono) microphone has been connected. This only happens on Windows Vista and later (because ...

Re: Choppy and fast playback
If you expect help you should please give us some information to go on. Look at the pink panel at the top of this page. Is it computer playback that you are trying to record? YouTube? You could try "Check if Windows can process real-time audio efficiently" here: http://wiki.audacityteam.or...

Re: Blue Yeti USB Mic, Audacity & Windows 8.1
Thanks. I tried it but doesn't make any difference. Still suffering with a delay and echo. What is that you hear late in the headphones output of Yeti? Your singing or the background you are singing to? Right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose "Recording Devices"...

Re: Sample rate question
The processor of my laptop is: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-53, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~1.7GHz. I am sure Windows 8 would run on it but I suppose it would be slower than the XP and would use more disk space and memory as well. I doubt it would be slower. Windows XP is slowed down by so...
