Re: Importing issue
I just thought it went without saying the reason I was importing into Audacity was so I could edit, that's why I didn't say it, but yes, I import, then edit, then export. What edits? What we're saying is that if (for example) you were importing MP3's, normalizing them, then fading in and exporting ...

Re: Help , Audacity Causes cracks on audio
Hello , I'm using Audacity 2.0.1 version. The latest is 2.0.5 ( http://audacityteam.org/download/windows ). It may be an idea to upgrade. There is a song without vocals (instrumental). When i open this track on audacity , crack noises appears from nowhere. This track recorded by my friend on anothe...

Re: file won't go over 2GB
Audacity 2.0.5 uses libflac 1.2.1 which would have been just before the suggested patch in the bug report. We updated to libflac 1.3.0 after release of 2.0.5 so I tried doing a standard FLAC export using File > Export Audio > FLAC Files in 2.0.6-alpha on Windows 8.1 64-bit. It was a 3 hour recording...

Re: Critical Nyquist files cannot be found
MAVERICKS 10.9.2 - MacBook Pro retina Hello! I have been reading Read Me's and online comments and can't seem to sort out how to get Audacity up and running. I'm launching from the Apps folder. Upon opening, it freezes with a message that "Critical Nyquist files cannot be found". I see bo...

Re: individual tracks
Which version of Linux did you try? I am not a Linux expert, but to begin with, you could just download a version of Linux for use on a Live CD or a Live USB stick, without installing it. You could then see if you like it. A USB stick will be faster than a CD. Set the machine to boot from the CD or ...

Re: file won't go over 2GB
I wonder if the specs about the Flac maximum size came with Windows 7, since the problem wasn't there before. (Every file on that list was exported and saved before I switched). This was a long-standing issue in the FLAC encoder when built on Windows that I didn't think had anything to do with the ...

Re: file won't go over 2GB
If the requirement is to play lossless copies of shows of unlimited length in Foobar, try exporting as RF64. Please see: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 57#p239257 .

I don't know how to copy contents of a folder to some other place as an image. Open the file manager window. Hold ALT on your keyboard and press PrtScr. Open Paint. Edit > Paste. Save as PNG. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 . Gale

Re: putting the Headphones In for Timer recording
I put the Headphones in to mute the speakers when I'm recording something online, and no sound comes out of the speakers during recording, but if I Timer record, I plug the headphones in to mute the speakers, but sound comes out of the speakers when recording starts. How can I stop this?. You've as...

Re: putting the Headphones In for Timer recording
Workaround: try plugging in a dummy 3.5mm stereo jack with no cables attached or one that terminates in another plug of some sort. My other method is to plug in my active speakers as they have their own volume control. Is that going to help if plugging in headphones doesn't kill the internal speake...
