Re: file won't go over 2GB

I have Windows 7, not 8. I am aware of that. There would not be any point testing on Windows 7 as you already have done so, but you were suggesting there could be differences between different versions of Windows. Anyway, the issue is fixed now by the libflac update, so there is no more to discuss....

Re: file won't go over 2GB

Just confirming that in 2.0.5 release on Windows 8, I too get FLAC exports over 2 GB trimmed to 2 GB.

Re: Problem with second track

If you are serious about making overdubs might it not be an idea at the least to use an external mic, even if a cheap dynamic one? Windows 7 Ultimate sp 1 64-bit Computer is a Lenovo T410 Intel i5 CPU 2.53 GHz OK, I suggest you uninstall the Conexant device in Device Manager. Install the Conexant Au...

Re: Installing Audacity SVN on Ubuntu 14.0.4 from scratch

Note that FFmpeg is not currently supported because Ubuntu 14.04 does not include FFmpeg in its repository. I'll add some work-around options later when/if I have time ;) There are links here for the two workarounds I know: How to compile Audacity against FFmpeg 0.10.12 Install a third-party PPA of...

Re: remove noise just by a click on a short-cut?

Older versions of Audacity did allow you to use a single NRP (Noise Profile) file that was a previously captured noise profile. However the feature was not intuitive and was part of another incomplete feature. You could not select one or more profiles from the Noise Removal interface. So what you ar...

Re: Problem with second track

You'll need to give more details, then. See the pink panel at the top of the page. Version of Audacity? Version of Windows, and 32-bit or 64-bit? Make and model number of the computer? What recording device have you chosen in Device Toolbar ? Are you using the same device for playback? What you are ...

Re: Want to record an LP

I wasn't hearing the output because the Line Input of the volume control was set to MUTE! More modern machines usually don't even give you the option to unmute the input in the Windows Control Panel. You have to listen to it by enabling Transport > Software Playthrough in Audacity. Every time I sto...

Re: Error not well-formed (invalid token) at line 63402

EEEEEEE!!! I'm so close Gale!! Okay, when I open Audacity, it gives me two option of files to recover. One has the original file name, but I don't know if it is the "old" file or the new one and the other is named "New project". Which one should I open? I'm soooo close, yay!!! :...

Re: need someone to teach me

Thanks for the reply, Gale. As I said in the post, I'm looking for someone to teach me one on one. Jane As I said in my reply, we don't do that. If someone unofficially makes you an offer and you accept, that is a private arrangement that is nothing to do with the Forum, and you accept the entire r...
