Everytime i try to import a multichannel 24-bit DTS audio track from a movie it ends up showing in audacity as 6 16-bit tracks and not 24-bit. I suggest you pursue your issue with Parallels, or dual boot Windows and Mac OS X.

What version of Audacity are you using? If you install libmp3lame.dylib in /usr/local/lib/audacity on each computer, doesn't Audacity detect LAME without browsing for it?
