Re: Windows 8 Audacity poor quality playback

Ok, first time I've been on this forum, so here goes: I produce a podcast, and up until last month I had been using my old laptop w/ Windows 7, and Audacity. Recording audio off of the internet (sound bites, clips, etc. via line-in through a Behringer mixer) and the quality of its playback was neve...

Re: BBE Sonicsweet plugin

See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=63886&p=172389 . According to http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/VST_Plug-ins Sonic Maximizer did not appear in Audacity Beta with the old VST Bridge. It "may" be usable to run on a stopped track in current Audacity (which does ...

Re: playing WMA files

You can install the FFmpeg software and that should solve the screeching sound problem. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown Just to be clear, Audacity 1.2 does not recognise FFmpeg, and we can't offer any help with 1.2 as it is obsolete (please see the pin...

Re: Problem Importing 24-bit DTS

After processing the file in Audacity, how would it be exported? Is there a command-line dts encoder that could be used as "external program" to achieve same quality as the original "Master Audio 5.1 24bit.dts" file? The only way I know is to use a recent build of FFmpeg (like t...

Does this cover what you describe: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=525 ?

Re: Audacity ® 2.0.0 (Unicode doesn't record

If you are trying to record from popular sites like YouTube or Daily Motion, in many cases you can download the videos or the audio files therefrom by installing special programs or web browser extensions or by visiting certain sites and typing the URL of the video you want to download. You can use ...

Re: Audacity no disk space error has cut my original wav in

Your problem: DVDdoug is correct! On an older project I ran into exactly the same problem you described. My WAV file appeared to have all of the audio data (judging by its size), however when opening the file in either Audacity or any other player/editor it cut out at 32min 21sec. My WAV file had s...
