Re: Records 2 tracks at once - urgent!

I guess I think that I can record one track at a time - does it mix tracks automatically? Yes. I imported the first file and edited it, etc. Have you tried F5 to enable Time Shift Tool? You can then click and drag each music import to where you want it on the timeline. If you want to make space wit...

Re: Records 2 tracks at once - urgent!

Maybe you didn't read my question carefully? Actually I read it several times. It was very unclear to me. But I still think you are recording the music with your reading, when you want to record only your reading, right? If so then you need to do what I suggested. To check what audio a track contai...

Re: Audacity quit unexpectedly

I would try either disabling iSight ( http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23346/isight-disabler ) or reinstall 10.9.3.

All the posts online about corrupted Color Sync Profiles suggest reinstalling OS X as the best solution.

Re: Records 2 tracks at once - urgent!

I am trying to make a recording where reading is interchanged with musical excerpts (not simultaneously). I record my first excerpt, but it activates the empty audio track below it and puts the music onto both. I need to have SEPARATE audio tracks and cannot find how to separate them (NOT separatin...

Re: Recording OK then suddenly I only see a flat line

I think the symptoms indicate that Audacity cannot write to its temporary directory. Edit > Preferences. Choose "Directories" on the left. Set the Audacity temporary directory to a working drive, and choose a folder that you have permission to write to. C:Users<your user name>AppDataLocalT...

Re: Audacity will no longer record from microphone

You need to select the microphone as your recording device. Also you need to change the "Host" (first box in Device Toolbar) to MME or Windows DirectSound. Windows WASAPI is currently only available for recording computer playback (and typically the stream needs to be playing before the r...

Re: Records at high speed

I did not record the test tone in the same manner as vinyl. The tone is generated by Audacity, and I don't know the my sound card is even involved in the process. No cables are used, nor is any control used to adjust the recording level. Then you didn't record the tone. You generated it, but then d...

Re: Where make puts the Audacity binary

Prior to the autoconf change, Audacity would pick up both the shipped plug-ins and built modules from within the source code tree. Now it doesn't. (Debian). And on Ubuntu it does pick up the plug-ins and modules if I put the binary back in the top level of the tree. Do you agree? Remind me, what wa...

Re: recording

Right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose "Recording Devices" so you can see what devices Windows recognises. If that USB microphone array is not the Ion device, disconnect it. Follow all the steps in the green box "Detecting USB and Firewire devices" her...
