Re: Problem with the audio track when recording
I want my microphone to record the sound from my loudspeakers, and not my loudspeakers to transmit the sound from my microphone. Turn off Transport > Software Playthrough (Passage audio logiciel). But it is a bad idea to record the speakers with the microphone. You will record in much higher qualit...

Re: Finding sounds
If you duplicated the track you "might" be able to run a Nyquist code snippet to isolate the coughs then use Analyze > Sound Finder... to label them. See: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=241763#p241763 and the post below that. I would not be too optimistic if the coughs are m...

Re: Vocal Remover not working
If the vocals are not in the centre or have stereo reverb added then you cannot remove them with Vocal Remover. Try a vocal remover plug-in that works on on other than centre removal ( http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Vocal_Removal_Plug-ins ) or buy a karaoke version of the song on the internet. Gale

Re: editing audacity project
i downloaded a selection of songs from youtube and recorded them using audacity. If you downloaded the videos you could have made it easier by installing FFmpeg . Then you could have just dragged the video files into Audacity and it would have extracted the audio for you. i then edited the "pr...

Re: Records 2 tracks at once - urgent!
The only thing I can do at this point (since Audacity won't recognize any of it) is to try to play the OGG files with their software, which I downloaded. It does open and start playing, but there is no sound - somehow the sound connection is lost. If I can reconnect that, I might have a complete re...

Re: Apply Chain file export problem
I'm running Audacity 2.0.0 on a MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8 The current version is 2.0.5 from http://audacityteam.org/download/mac . I recommend you upgrade. When I batch process some files using Apply Chain (using a chain that I have created myself) the edited files are not exported into the "clean...

Re: How to mix audio track you track?
If the audio that is at the wrong time is on a separate track, press F5 to switch to Time Shift Tool then drag the audio to the correct place. Press F1 to go back to Selection Tool.
If that does not help, please describe the problem in more detail.

Re: Recording upon launch
You don't. It's a feature request. You can create an AutoHotKey or similar script and run that script as a Windows scheduled task set to run on launch of Windows.

Re: Records 2 tracks at once - urgent!
OK, I have opened a new Aud. window and dragged all the music OGG files, then individually imported the raw data from that file (lots and lots). I have "saved as" and not disturbed it. What I see in the Aud. window is all those files but all with flat lines, no recordings in site. How do ...

Re: Key Bindings Don't Work
I'm using Audacity 2.05 on Windows 7 x64. Please look in Help > About Audacity... and make sure you have 2.0.5 (two decimal points). If not, you can get 2.0.5 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . When I go to Edit > Preferences > Keyboard and attempt to change the key bindings for Play, ...
