Re: I don't know what I pressed but my view has changed.
Apologies that I can't really explain myself but I thought I just pressed undo (cmd Z) but must have pressed something else as my view in the edit has gone to this/Users/kerry/Desktop/Screen Shot 2014-05-29 at 13.31.33.png The time along the top is no longer there and I can't see the sound waves. Audio devices are most likely to be the cause (for example, your built-in sound device or an external audio interface has bad drivers, or...

Re: RCA VR5220-A audio anomaly
Is there any difference between those two models except the size of memory? Are you talking about recording standalone, without connecting the recorder to the computer, or about recording into Audacity by playing a recording then connecting from headphones of the recorder to the computer? If the for...

Re: MacBookAir recording what you hear
Or use Windows Vista or later. :o For those systems, Microsoft provide a Windows WASAPI API with loopback recording to let you do what Apple won't allow out of the box (as long as the recording program can use WASAPI, which Audacity can). Or use Linux Ubuntu or Linux Mint, which ship with "puls...

Re: Odd Popping Sound from Mic That I'm Trying to Mitigate
It is only a $10 mic and the onboard sound probably cost ASUS a good deal less than that. But if you do have Audacity project rate (bottom left of the window) set high, set it to 44100 Hz. Then if you still get the noises every two seconds we can say that the noise is not related to Audacity writing...
