Re: playback seems to be slipping

Are there small pieces of the recording missing, or is the speed incorrect? Perhaps you could attach an audio sample so we could hear the problem.

What is the make and model number of the USB device you are using?

Re: Mic sound only partly recorded during overdubbing

Please describe your setup in more detail. What playback and recording devices have you chosen in Audacity? Why would you use a USB mic when you have a USB interface to which you could connect a powered studio mic? Have you installed Skype? That can interfere with levels of audio devices. There are ...

Re: exporting gives AIFF rather than WAV

Yes it's a bug as noted in the 2.1.2 Release Notes (third bullet down from where the link lands). The content is correct for your chosen format. All you need to do is change the extension when you export or after you export. The metadata is exported. The incorrect extension will be fixed in the upco...

Re: Windows 10 Audacity ver. 2.1.2

I have the same problem on my new laptop with windows 10. I have bought yesterday an Asus X540S, installation is ok but when I started using audacity I have a problem over the audio. It is working on my Sony vpcea21fx that is running in windows 7. If you really have the same problem (whatever it is...

Re: Export Selected Audio resets the selection

as soon as I've disabled "Select all audio in project, if none selected", I lost the ability to "Export Selected Audio" (see screenshot). I believe it thinks that nothing is selected. According to your image this is correct. Nothing is selected in the track. Look in the blue wav...

Re: Can't export to external USB drive

This will be fixed on Mac in the upcoming 2.1.3 release of Audacity. However, using back or forwards slashes in file names is a bad idea if these files are intended for use on the internet or for people on other systems than Mac.

Re: ClipFix Effect is missing [SOLVED]

Thanks for letting us know. The upcoming Audacity 2.1.3 will be codesigned with an Apple Developer ID and with some other precautions this problem should not happen when launching Audacity. It might still happen when closing project windows.

Re: M audio Fast Track with Audacity or other interface?

Please, refer to my previous answer . I asked you questions there about the reasons for and the occurrence of the crackle, but you did not respond. Is the crackle due to recording too loud, and is the crackle you hear in the speakers in the same place every time you play the recording? In pariicular...

Re: Skipping during recording a Mix

Changed my audio to buffer speed from 100miliseconds (up to 150, then 200ms On Mac, that is the wrong direction. You may need to reduce it, perhaps to zero. See if this helps: http://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording_-_Troubleshooting#mac_crackle . Don't read elsewhere in that Manual t...
