Re: Blank spots recording Skype
I gave it a shot with these other programs and when I edit them together, I lose out when two people are talking at the same time cause one person seems to always drown the other out based on who is louder. You can still fix that if you have each voice on separate channels - use the Track Drop-Down...

Re: No Playback on MacBook Pro
I didn't have to plug in the headphones and unplug them. I had a problem that needed that fix a couple of years ago. I remember a little red light behind the jack, but I forget what the red light means. That red light means that the headphones connector is engaged. If you see that light when you do...

Re: No Playback on MacBook Pro
There may be an issue in recent versions of Audacity on MacBook Pro running Mavericks that cause Audacity not to play audio if you have already used other audio applications. Open Sound in the Sytems Preferences, click the "Sound Effects" tab then uncheck "Play user interface sound ef...

Re: USB Audio Grabber
If Windows doesn't see it as an audio recording device, Audacity won't see it either. I suggest you find and read the Manual for the exact version number of the Grabber that you have: http://www.win-star.com/eshop/article.php?id=41 . From reading one of the Manuals, it appears to be a video device,...

Re: Blank spots recording Skype
I actually like everything to come into one channel cause I have no idea how I am supposed to edit two channels into one. If you want a finished recording in mono and you already have a stereo recording with empty left channel, click the Track Drop-Down Menu , choose "Split Stereo to Mono"...

Re: Problem with the audio track when recording
Unless the purpose of this is to measure microphone delay, you should record the computer playback using stereo mix or Windows WASAPI, not with an external microphone. It is not what I do. I have to experiment time reversed acoustics. I have in a firt time to use my loudspeakers to play the track, ...

Re: Exporting M4A (AAC) Files
Thanks, but this just doesn't work ... for me. It should work if you follow the instructions. I've found a work-around through I-tunes and AVS4. If you were using a demo version of AVS4You, be aware that it might add a voice announcement at regular intervals through the saved file. Audacity can als...

Re: Color-coded tracks
It's obviously possible and there is an unapproved patch to do it if you can recompile Audacity yourself: http://audacity.238276.n2.nabble.com/PATCH-Clip-Colours-td7560793.html#a7560796 . Compiling Audacity is fairly easy on Ubuntu. See: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/CompilingAudacityForBeginner...
