Re: Feature request: Moving tracks
Well how would you describe "focus"? Its main importance as I understand it is for screen readers. The track that has focus is read. Functionally, focus doesn't seem to have a great deal of importance otherwise, except it is the focused track whose Track Drop-Down Menu opens when you press...

Re: Recording Keybind
We cannot see your computer. If you want help you will need to give your exact version of Windows, your exact version of Audacity and describe exactly what you are trying to do, using more words. Do you mean "record mic *while in* another application"? If you are tying to set F9 as a globa...

Re: Feature request: Moving tracks
I don't think that dragging a track that doesn't have focus makes sense, and may not be possible without a lot of hacking around the current code. How would you describe what track focus means? Unless we are going to tackle this we will never be able to drag multiple selected clips up and down eith...

Re: Acutal waveblock file got swapped with an orphan blockfi
I closed Audacity and opened the .aup file in WordPad, which I routinely use to inspect and edit (to rename the project) these files. That is very strongly discouraged . ;) The correct and safe way to rename projects is File > Save Project As... then delete the original AUP project file and _data f...

Re: Recording Keybind
I want to record something from my mic over another program so I tried using the key bind(F9,I changed it) to start the sound recording but it just wont start over another program. It doesn't make any difference what you set the Record shortcut to. You can only record mic and another program at the...

Re: recording with a keyboard
Probably you need to open Audacity Device Toolbar , set playback and recording devices to the Fast Track, then configure Fast Track so that it sends both inputs to be recorded and lets you monitor both inputs in its headphones port. You may want to read the Fast Track manual: http://www.m-audio.com/...

Re: Recorded tracks without waveforms
When you opened the project, did Audacity show you a message box warning of errors in the project? What did the errors say? I suggest you attach the AUP file and post the contents of Help > Show Log... . There isn't an easy way to capture the log information, but you can click at the top, drag the s...

Re: Voice recording on Mac - please help !
Make and model number of the USB microphone? The mic may not be compatible with Mac OS X or you may need to install Mac OS X drivers for it. Version of Audacity? Version of Mac OS X? See the pink panel at the top of this page. When you have correct drivers if required, match sample rates everywhere....

Hello I NEED HELP. Some one accidentally hit the main power cut of switch at the wall whilst recording. Re: microphone not picking up
bump in the interest of not getting drowned out in the other topics This is not an Audacity problem. If it is a USB mixer you set Audacity playback and recording devices to the mixer and configure the mixer to send/monitor the correct input. Have you looked at the manual for the mic? Can you boost ...
