Re: Deleting Clipped Audio
I've attached a small mp3 portion of the audio to this post for steve and others who've requested it. test.mp3 In response to Gale: yes, you are surely right that the BEST way is to record the audio without clipping in the first place. But as I mentioned, I've found many posts online from folks in ...

Re: Aup file bugged out :(
Yes it is always a good idea to export a recording as soon as you have made it. Having an AUP file apparently saved at correct size but just containing NULL's has been reported a number of times on this Forum and elsewhere. It is probably not a virus or disk save error but you cannot rule it out. Yo...

Does recording clip if you choose analogue output and record from What U Hear?
You still have not answered the real question, which is why you are recording from iTunes. If you are recording a file, import it into Audacity instead. Or are you recording a radio stream?

Re: Problems transfering audio from Olympus DP-201 recorder
I know that the line in is the pink/blue/green jacks(ports??) "Line-in" that Robert/Doug are suggesting has a specific meaning, and is almost always coloured blue. Unlike a microphone port, a line-in port is almost always stereo, and does not apply amplification. If the AUX port on your r...

Are you using Audacity in other than English language? If you have Tracks > Create Mono File when you are running in English, we did not make that Audacity version.ppackie wrote:We've tried both using the 'tracks' dropdown menu and sellecting 'create mono file'

Re: lame_enc.dll is missing
It seems you can use either the avcodec, avformat or avutil DLL file from FFmpeg to export MP3. No, everyone was fooled. In my case, despite selecting and opening the av* DLL, that DLL was producing all these missing symbol errors: 04:54:33: Error: Couldn't find symbol 'lame_init' in a dynamic libr...

Re: Can't save projects
If you had it working before you may want to investigate what you or Windows changed. Audacity did not change.
The official recommendation is not to save or export to network drives, but either way, it would appear your folder redirection is messed up.

Re: Feature request: Moving tracks
Well how would you describe "focus"? Not easily ;) I'd describe a track as a container for some type of data (according to the track type). Track focus indicates the "track" (as distinct from the data) that we are currently acting on. For example, to pan, solo, mute, drag, toggl...

Re: Voice recording on Mac - please help !
The mic is M-AUDIO vocal studio (it is delivered with the code for downloading the "Ignite" recording software, which I installed on my Mac, but I don't use it, because Audacity is much better and easier for me). The mic is compatible with Mac OS X (according to the manual). I have the ne...
