Re: Playback with pulseaudio on Ubuntu

I'm pretty sick of this Audacity problem at the moment, though I suspect it might be down to Pulseaudio. In the 10-15 years I've been using Ubuntu/Xubuntu, I can't say I've seen Pulseaudio working reliably on any machines I've used, and It beats me why a fundamental part of an OS doesn't work 'out ...

Re: Poor Sound from Computer Speakers

How are you recording computer playback? What options do you choose in Device Toolbar ? Computer speakers will have little bass and will distort much more readily. If you want to tweak the sound for listening only on computer speakers you may have to make a separate export at a low volume and with e...

Re: Help recording Stereo Mix on a PC?

I suggest you update to the latest Audacity 2.0.5 ( http://audacityteam.org/download/windows ) . Then you will have an additional method in Device Toolbar to record computer playback by choosing "Windows WASAPI" host and the "(loopback)" input for the speakers. In Audacity, I hav...

Re: Feature request: Moving tracks

Even that description has a weakness It does. Would you care to have a go at defining "focus"? Do we want to describe only the yellow border focus? Is any other unseen focus relevant (the focus that would show if you ran accessibility tools)? I guess the best place to describe focus may b...

Re: Recorded tracks without waveforms

As requested, here's what the log says Is that really all the log? If not please attach all of it as requested, and attach the AUP file. I'll ask again: When you opened the project, did Audacity show you a message box warning of errors in the project? What did the errors say? It is highly unlikely ...

I think it would be a waste of time to even record the request. Developers don't like coding for users who don't read the instructions.

Could Audacity distinguish a DMG from a USB thumb drive?

I doubt it. I've counted Koz's votes.

I suggest you archive this rather than delete it.

Re: Blank spots recording Skype

Could it be the stereo mix properties? I have it set at 2 channel 16 bit 48000 Hz (DVD Quality) and same for playback. There is a setting called "Exclusive mode" with two tabs for "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" and "give exclusive mode applica...

Re: Conserving/creating ID3 spare space

So we are clear what we are talking about, is it this from http://id3.org/d3v2.3.0 ? It is permitted to include padding after all the final frame (at the end of the ID3 tag), making the size of all the frames together smaller than the size given in the head of the tag. A possible purpose of this pad...
