Re: Deleting Clipped Audio
Pop Mute does sound applicable here and I am playing with it. One more thing. I want to use this in a more programmatic way as a command line binary. Is it possible to use this plugin and Audacity as a command line driven program so I can script it ? Can you explain what you are trying to do - have...

Re: separate audio by *beep*
You could try using the technique described in my earlier reply (http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=214415#p214415) to exaggerate the beeps on a duplicate copy of the track, then use Silence Finder (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/silence_finder_and_sound_finder.html#silence) to add...

Re: Distorted play back
What are you recording - playback of sounds on your computer using stereo mix or what U hear? What audio device are you using to record - SoundBlaster or USB card or built-in audio? If you are recording computer playback, turn off Transport > Software Playthrough. If the audio is recorded too loud, ...

Re: Short-cut-key to move position back or forward
Are you talking about moving the playback cursor when playing? If so, by default LEFT/RIGHT arrow moves 1 second or SHIFT-modified LEFT/RIGHT moves 15 seconds. You can change the seek distances in the "Seek Time when playing" settings in Playback Preferences . You can't move behind the pla...

Re: USB Remote recording gadget?
Audacity doesn't have "punch-in" correction of mistakes, so I assume you are not recording with Audacity?
I don't know about remote controls for arbitrary recording devices, but you can do punch-ins with Zoom H4n: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMzRmVTMRWU .

Re: Crackling that started after system restore.
I moved this to the correct Windows board for you. Did you explicitly use System Restore to return the computer to a previous Restore Point? Or are you talking about reinstalling Windows and/or formatting the drive? You may want to reinstall the audio device you are using - is it motherboard sound? ...

Re: Imbalance between stereo recording tracks LPs
If your new computer is on Windows Vista or later and your issue is that you are recording the same content in left and right channel, see the big green box here:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... #rinstereo .
That applies to Windows 8 too.

Re: Recording Sound Level Distorted
Setting up Audacity Version 1.4 today. There is no such version (made by us). Please download the latest Audacity 2.0.5 properly from us at: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . Test recording is very distorted as if too much input is happening. My Windows XP does not list "Sounds and Au...

View > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars if you want to dock all the Toolbars.
Reinstalling Audacity would also dock all the Toolbars as a result of resetting Audacity Preferences, but only if you enable the box "Reset Preferences" half way through the installer.

Re: Gain Control During Recording Stoped Working?
The only microphone I have is the Yeti Blue attached with USB cable. The Input Volume slider is topped out and the voices are way to quiet That is what you should fix and why we need an answer as to where the voices that you want to record are coming from. The voices are distanced and this cannot b...
