Re: USB not recognized on my PC
I have launched Audacity and see the microphone input, but I cannot get the Audacity software to recognize my Agptek cassette player or my Audio Technica record player. Is there something I'm missing? Maybe a driver that needs to be installed or something I'm doing wrong? I'm hoping someone on this...

Re: Can't switch to "line in" audio input
I just bought a microphone I've connected to the input 1/8 jack in the back of my iMac. Does that mic connect through a pre-amplifier or have phantom power? Most Mac's do not have a microphone input that supplies necessary amplification to mics using a 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) connector. To choose the Lin...

Re: No Track Control Panel
Hi, I have tried to install Audacity 2.0.5. exe.installer on Windows XP from Sourceforge and I have no Track Control Panel. I uninstalled twice re-installed three times but with no success. I downloaded the Microsoft Visual C++2008 in case this fixed the problem but unfortunately not. Please uninst...

Re: wav tag editor
I must see that other tag editors write the tags in wav files wrong. They are invisible in the detail view from the explorer. So: perhaps not so easy ??? The Audacity wav tags are visible :D I don't think it's a question of other tag editors writing the tags "wrong". Windows will only see...

Re: Skipping when recording
I started a new topic for you. We can't address different issues in the same topic. Have you used Audacity before without this problem happening? That is, did you make system changes just before the problem started? If you installed Mavericks over older OS X you could try reinstalling Mavericks. How...
Re: Trovi
We never used the word "virus" but we use virustotal to indicate that our downloads do not contain malware. I hope that you are prepared to address the problem What do you suggest we do? You apparently admit that the download links on http://audacityteam.org/ do not contain Trovi but neith...

Re: Distorted play back
Sorry but you will have to give some more detail. Is the Sam software this: http://spacial.com/sam-dj ? Are you sure that software isn't applying effects? Is the problem in what you recorded? Generate > Tone (30 seconds) and play it. Does it play through to the end properly? Please open Device Toolb...

Re: Win7 MP3 file using audacity-win-2.0.5
Please try Steve's suggestion. Set the project rate bottom left of Audacity to 44100 Hz. Then open Edit > Preferences, choose Quality on the left, then set Default Sample Rate to 44100 Hz. That way, your new projects will always be 44100 Hz. We have established that your player plays MP3 files at 44...

Re: Background noise returns after export
Dither noise should not be very loud in Audacity 2.0.5. Are you listening in headphones?SophroCoach wrote:Thank you so much, it works!
I wonder if your recordings are loud enough if you can hear the dither noise easily. Ideally you should aim for recordings to peak at or around -6 dB.
