Re: Sound dropping out when converting to mono
What happens if you use the track drop-down menu and use "Split Stereo to Mono" (without deleting either track)? If I do that, is it still considered a mono file? Of course. If you export the track and don't pan it, it will be a mono file. It will play equally in both left and right chann...

Re: 2.0.5 Windows 8.1 wont monitor, stalls, no audio
Win 7 crashed when they stopped support on XP, it turns out some of the drivers were still defaulting to XP & wouldn't function, after many sessions with Microsoft there was no patch, so upgraded to Win 8. Do you mean you are using an old computer or old audio hardware that was manufactured in ...

Re: Can't play an imported track
Install or reinstall the Audacity 2.0.5 exe from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows , making sure you put a tick (checkmark) in the "Reset Preferences" box half way through the installation process.

Re: modified silence marker to insert more silence
I notice in "Stretch Silence" that if I have 1s of noise at -75 dB, then 2s of sound (Risset Drum in my case) then 4s of noise at -75 dB, then apply Stretch Silence to the entire selection at -40 dB, min 0.1s, insert 5s, the insertion is absolute silence, but the insertion is only before ...

Re: Feature request: Moving tracks
And you want to vote for a modifier to not change selectedness when clicking on a track to drag it, yes? That sounds like it could be useful, but I'll stay neutral on that for now. If you are adding it to the wiki I may add my vote later. I won't be voting for that or adding it unless someone votes...

Yes. Either of those. Or PM me, Steve or waxcylinder.pdun459 wrote:Okay, so to "vote," you find the topic on the features requests page and post that you'd like to add it to Audacity. Or send it as feedback via Contact Us. Is that correct?

Re: help saveing sound as a mono sound
Don't pan the mono track using the L....R slider on the Track Control Panel - this makes Audacity export it as stereo.

Thanks. Please note your Apache 2.0 licence is regarded as incompatible with Audacity's GPL v2 licence, so these plug-ins should not be posted here unless you can relicense them. Please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_Lic ... patibility .

Re: Audacity plays songs way too fast solution
Thanks. CD audio is 44100 Hz 16-bit, so if your sound card can't cope with resampling or bit depth conversion and you are using MME host in Audacity, you made a good choice. You are losing quality by recording the CD, though. To extract songs from the CD without losing quality, use a CD ripping prog...

Re: Static while Recording
Reinstalling Audacity does not change its settings unless you enable "Reset Preferences" half way through the installer. Ask ArcSoft support if they know of any explanation. Use another application to capture video. Fraps is not perfect but it should let you capture the audio and the video...
