Re: Imbalance between stereo recording tracks LPs
My version of Windows is 7.5 Needless to say there is no such thing ;) . There is Windows Phone 7.5, but you aren't using Audacity on a mobile phone, that's for sure. I just noticed that when listening to my recordings, Audacity saves in mono even if the stereo that appears on the screen as the one...

Re: 2.0.5 Windows 8.1 wont monitor, stalls, no audio
There is not a toolbar at the top for speakers. I suggest you turn Device Toolbar back on. It makes it easier to see what devices you are selecting. Choose View > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars. Now there is no redbars appearing trying to monitor. That is to be expected, according to your Audio Device I...

Re: Shorttime analysis
It was decided a while ago that plug-ins that were not compatible with GPL v2 could be linked to on Audacity Team sites like http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plug-ins, but not hosted there. The plug-in code of GPL v2-incompatible plug-ins has been posted here embedded in the web pa...

Re: Acutal waveblock file got swapped with an orphan blockfi
Sorry but the developers won't have patience to read long expanses of closely spaced text with no steps to reproduce. I have no idea of your workflows. Are you saying that the orphan file was not silence, but that you believed it belongs where a silent block file happened to be? Does the problem onl...

A more convenient way of doing that is to press left bracket [ .waxcylinder wrote:Yes, just click where you want the cursor to bedizzy1234 wrote:Sorry - what I meant was instead of "Stop and Move Cursor (Shift+A)" just "move cursor" to wherever is playing at the time but without stopping

Re: can somebody loop a pice for me
It's much better for you if you learn to do this yourself, otherwise you will always be asking.
To get started you could have a look at: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Looping .

Re: Temp files don't auto delete when you close the program?
As I think you know, we caution against continuing to use XP. Yes, when you File > Close, the temporary "project" folder for that never saved project should be deleted. When you File > Exit, all the temporary project folders should be deleted. If you have the temp folder open in Explorer o...

Re: Discontinuities / Shifts in Audio
These glitches seem to occur randomly but usually mixed in with speech. Post recording, more of these seem to creep in as I perform various edits such as truncating silence, noise removal or EQ. This seems to me to be a software issue. I'm speculating that it might have something to do with the way...

I've merged your duplicate topic into this one. Please don't confuse everyone by posting the same topic twice. Stay in this topic. Please try what Koz suggested: Just as a quick test try this: Make a brief recording with both microphones jammed against each other. No spacing at all. What happens to ...
