Also the mixer must be configured (if it can be) not to send the audio from the computer back to the computer to be recorded. Look at what the two "To Main Mix/Phones" buttons do.

I got this unworkable .File extension when I asked them to do FLAC or WAV. To guess at your issue, don't add dots (periods) into the file name.
