Does setting Audacity to record in stereo make any difference? It could do if you are connected to line-in. If that's to do with it, you can use the Track Drop-Down Menu to Split Stereo to Mono then close the unwanted track.

Re: Don't understand new noise removal prompt box
I've been working on recording a clean audio but the noise removal prompt box has changed and I don't understand how I can eliminate the hissing sounds. Are there any examples anywhere that shows you what various settings mean? Assuming you have the latest Audacity 2.0.5, please look at: Noise Remo...

Re: Mystery of the tiny waveform and intermittent 1000 hz to
Additional to Steve's point about getting close to the mic... So, I bought the Griffin iMic, and it neither boosted the signal nor eliminated the high pitched tone. The recording quality is exactly the same. Do I need the tranformer to match the impedance, too? I was thinking I only needed one or th...

Re: Audacity loops voor a particular MP3 file
Thanks for the report. We can't raise a bug report without an example file that demonstrates the problem, so yes please upload the file to dropbox, mailbigfile.com or your favourite service and give us the web address of the file. As a workaround, you could try installing FFmpeg from http://manual.a...

Re: Meters
You can also get 24-bit recording under WDM-KS Will that work with a USB interface? WDM-KS in principle works with USB interfaces, yes. Are you asking if your specific USB interface is compatible with WDM-KS? There is a small chance it isn't compatible. There is a small chance that non-compatibilit...

Re: Change Speed - Stretch audio to a specified length
"Stretch" as the name of "StretchAudio.ny" is a little misleading for non-technical users - you can use reduce the length. Why not call it "Adjust length"? I think it would be better to add length boxes to the built-in Change Speed than have a "simple" length ...

Re: General exporting dilemma.
Don't add dots (periods) into the file name. Audacity would have warned you the file name was illegitimate, but apparently you ignored the warning. If you want dots in the file name, you must add the extension required such as .mp3 after the file name. See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_o...

Re: Meters
The two main reasons I wrote my own recording program are: 1) At the time Audacity didn't support 24-bit recording because neither ASIO nor WASAPI was supported. Obviously ASIO is supported - you just chose not to compile Audacity with ASIO support. We're not underestimating the impact of compilati...

Re: Software Lockup
Version 2.05.0 on win7. The program opens normally but as soon as I open the tab file and then hit open, the program locks up and it locks up badly meaning. ctr/alt/del will not close it nor will any other command except to turn off the computer power. Audacity imports an audio file or opens AUP pr...

Re: How can I record using 2 mics?
Thanks - note we do have a FAQ for this: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_how_to_s.html#twomics . I added Voice Meeter and Alis to the FAQ (the update will appear in the Manual for the next release of Audacity). you can record 2 MIC with Voicemeeter (http://www.voicemeeter.com) and...
