Re: Audio clipping when recording from SPDIF

When I converted my MiniDiscs I experienced this with a few of them - and bearing in mind that these were all home recordings made by I was surprised by the level differences and the clipping. The only solution I found was to record those particular MiniDiscs by taking the analog RCA out from the M...

Re: Change Speed - Stretch audio to a specified length

More advanced users may see an inference to time stretching, which is not what this plug-in does. Hmm, resampling is very closely related to "time stretching" as "Change Speed/Tempo/Pitch" are all very closely related (at least "technically" so). See Time stretching is...

Re: Frequent error msg "Could not remove old autosave file"

I am experiencing this problem. Audacity 2.0.5 Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 The error occurs on every autosave. In the directory I see several tmp files and one autosave file. The timestamp on the autosave file matches the timestamp of the most recent tmp file. The files all have the same ...

Audacity pops up a box that says "Normally these files end in ".MP3" " (or whatever extension the format has). There is no way to turn that warning off.

Re: Help setting Audio Host, no option to record from Intern

I was hoping to be able to listen to what the browser is playing, while recording, without having Audacity record also the external sound of my microphone. It would be helpful to listen what is being recorded to know when to stop the recording. Anyways, if there is no way to isolate the microphone ...

Re: Fedora Linux 20 -- Audacity does not show audiofire 2 de

As a general rule, Windows and especially Mac have better support for Firewire audio devices than Linux. If the operating system does not properly recognise the device then Audacity cannot use it. However be aware that if you connect an external audio device after launching Audacity, you must restar...

Re: Help setting Audio Host, no option to record from Intern

Mac OS X does not offer the Windows WASAPI host for the simple reason that it is not a Windows computer. Apple does not even allow recording the sound as it's playing on the sound card in the way that stereo mix does on Windows. However you can capture the sound before it gets to the sound card usin...

Re: Looking for Step-By-Step Newbie Guide to Compiling

Just try opening "C:wxWidgets-2.8.12buildmswwx_dll.dsw", convert the file, then Build > Batch Build and select only five projects, namely

* adv
* base
* core
* html
* net

for "DLL Unicode Debug".

Re: Change Speed - Stretch audio to a specified length

"Stretch" as the name of "StretchAudio.ny" is a little misleading for non-technical users If I recall correctly, "stretch" was the term used by the user that was asking how to "stretch" one track to synchronise with another. Probably, but another user could b...
