Re: record streaming audio using Audacity and crontab
If the radio reception wavers, the recording will waver, whatever recording method you use. Or do you mean these shows are also available online? Audacity doesn't have any command-line arguments that instruct it to record, only to open or open with files. So you would have to open Audacity then use ...

Re: Unbalanced input signal
How do I close a track? I thought I just click on the "x" at the upper left hand corner (see photo), but not so. Click on "Window" and it shows that track with a check mark. And when trying to open that track using "Open Recent", it gives me an error msg. And I don't k...

Re: Redirected appdata permissions error
Sorry none of us here are actually domain administrators, hence the questions may seem a little stupid to you. We are using Windows 7 on a 2012 domain and the latest Audacity 2.0.5. Can you explain what exactly that means? Is "2012" to do with Windows Server 2012? Staff have re-directed Ap...

Re: autotalent ladspa plugin crashes when selecting formant
Autotalent "0.2-2" from the Ubuntu 13.10 repository does not crash Audacity 2.0.4 or latest Audacity HEAD (Ubuntu 13.10 32-bit, Formant Correction enabled). Autotalent "0.2-3" from the Ubuntu 14.04 repository does not crash Audacity HEAD, nor does the 0.2 autotalent.so from http:...

Re: How to get an AUP file from the _data file
Here is a direct link to the information for recovering an unedited recording:
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... very_tools .
@Koz: Please post that link where Audacity has not crashed (and so show won't show the Automatic Crash Recovery dialogue).

Re: No Project Menu to Import Audio
I am trying to add background music and from what I have read I need to import the audio through the project menu. The Project Menu was last in Audacity 1.3.0 if I recall correctly, so your were reading old documentation. If the documentation was on one of our sites, please post the web address and...

Re: Audacity won't recognize some wav files
... It's not a wav file. My bad :? music_a.wav file is a wav file, but it contains a stream encoded with mp3 instead of usual pcm. Thanks for your help. Yes WAV is a container format so it is perfectly legitimate for it to contain MP3-encoded audio. Audacity as shipped can't import a WAV containing...

Re: Recording System Sounds with Steinberg UR22?
Ok, so I cannot record what is coming out of the speakers and the microphone at the same time. You may be able to do that with Fraps if you are on Windows Vista or later. You didn't say what version of Windows (see the pink panel at the top of this page). Is it possible to just record what is comin...

Re: Just a question!!!
All images in the Audacity Manual show the default settings for a dialogue. So as you can see at Compressor , the default threshold is -12 dB.
