Re: How do I use chains to export wav as 8khz ulaw
I cannot figure out how to get ExportWav to resample and save as ulaw wav files. Is this possible? I've searched the forum and found one reference to an unreleased build that has this feature. I can do this manually by setting the project rate to 8khz, choosing File, Export, Other uncompressed file...

Re: STOPS WHEN I START A GAME
This program stops when I start a game (etc. the forest...) Do you mean Audacity crashes when you start a game, or stops recording? Does the entire computer crash? Does the game require exclusive access to the sound card? That will stop you recording with Audacity. Before that worked fine just now ...

I'll add your vote for an option to disable hardware linking of the Audacity output slider.

Re: Editing a song with video and Movie Maker
That should be OK, just upload it. If it's other than PCM uncompressed we'll let you know. We'll give you the shortened version in 16-bit PCM WAV.eager to learn wrote:I have the audio in .wav which is the format I import into Movie Maker.

Re: Audio truncated
The file headers may be incorrect. If it's a WAV file, try importing it using File > Import > Raw Audio... and if you don't know what sample rate it is supposed to be, choose lower sample rates in the Import Raw dialogue until the speed and length are correct.

Re: 2.0.5 really slow, unresponsive and then crashes
Current Audacity is slow with over an hour of audio, or dozens of tracks, to some extent depending on the computer. If it is an Audacity settings problem, such as excessive project rate, then you should enable "Reset Preferences" halfway through the reinstallation, or the reinstallation wi...

Re: Record from a audio stream?
Reinstalling Audacity will not change its settings unless you enable "Reset Preferences" half way through the installer.doobiezz wrote:I tried re-installing Audacity and still nothing.
You can also try rebooting the computer.

Re: Single file with wrong Tempo, wrong volume, no waveform
I've been using Audacity 2.0.5 for about a month now and I think its amazing software. It's been working absolutely fine for me ever since I began with it, but, while recording an audio segment for a video project this past Saturday using a conventional microphone, I found one of the files horribly...
