Re: *crash*

Yeah Gale, it happens when I click the play/stop preview > button. Not always, just after a few times, this is with a ~10 second selection. I am usually in listen mode also. I could get it to crash once if I pumped the Play/Stop button in the effect as fast as I could. I wouldn't call that normal u...

Re: Aligning Tracks End To End

While working with multiple tracks, you may find it easier to "collapse" the tracks to minimum height. (View menu > Collapse All Tracks Ctrl+Shift+C). If you need to work on a specific track, restore it to its previous height by clicking on the button at the bottom of the panel on the lef...

Re: Aligning Tracks End To End

I still can't get the tracks to align end to end You can instead Zoom Out (COMMAND + 3), press F5 to switch to Time Shift Tool, then click in the second track and drag it righwards where you want it. Press F1 to go back to Selection Tool when you are finished dragging. Did you know we have a Manual...

Re: Gsnap/GVST Not Enabling or Showing Up

I assume you meant you got the 64-bit GSnap when you say "34 bit". Audacity requires 32-bit plugins on Windows. Audacity 2.1.2 no longer has a Preference for rescan - a rescan happens when you open Effect > Add / Remove Plug-ins... . You don't need to restart Audacity after enabling a plug...

Re: Lame_Enc not being recognised/detected

I just went into Edit - Preferences- Libraries, in Audacity, and it has now picked up Lame 3.97 encoder from the TextAloud folder. I have checked it, and everything seems to be working. We recommend LAME 3.99.3 installed using these instructions: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_installation_...

Thanks for the report, Rick.

Spitfish does not crash for me on Windows 10.

Do you have any exact steps we could follow to reproduce the crash?

Re: audacity... on a tablet

Audacity doesn't have any explicit support for touch yet, so you can't necessarily expect that you will be able to navigate Audacity as you would with a mouse. If you enable the Windows touch keyboard you may be able to use that to navigate or to issue commands. Similarly I don't think much has been...

Re: reverse out of control

I use no wireless at all. You must make sure you don't press the CTRL key when you click in the blue waves. A specific question for me is how a project that is playing forward right to left can be changed to forward left to right. Normal playback (press the SPACE bar) is always forwards (left to ri...
