Re: no sound on entire computer
If you have just connected a USB microphone, turntable or cassette player, see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_playback.html#usb . If that does not help, please tell us what version of Windows you have. On Vista and later you can select the default playback device in Windows Sound . Gale

Re: length of time of recording
If you are trying to record for a specific length of time, see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_how_to_s.html#timer . If you have a selection in the track and Transport > Overdub is "on" then recordings will be limited to the length of the selection. If you want to retai...

Re: Error: no element found at line 75
I've attached a further copy of the remake.AUP that has references to all the AU files in your image. So the project should now open without missing audio block files. I don't know if this is a recording or an edited file, so the last eight blocks in the right-hand channel may not be in the correct ...

Re: High noise with blue yeti.
Let us know if you find the cause of the noise. Yeti is a popular microphone and many people try to record game audio with a commentary.

Re: Recording new problems
It seems to happen only, or more often, if there are already some recorded tracks (only one is read). If you don't need the previous tracks to play when you record, try turning off Transport > Overdub. I have do tests by recording 1000Hz, and then I never heard an artefact? If so that could indicat...

Re: 3 pin din microphone to PC sound card
The microphone input on a computer's built-in sound card is 1/8 inch TRS (unbalanced) female. If you are singing or speaking professionally probably you want to connect to an XLR input on a mixer or interface: http://www.soundonsound.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=640593&Main=531077 . Gale

Yes indeed, or anything else that can usefully done in the headers or metadata.steve wrote:I suppose that ideally, if this is the only command in the chain, then it should edit the metadata without importing the audio (so no need to decode/re-encode).

Re: Recording new problems
I appologize beacause I do not understand what is the built-in playback device. During a record of a new track, I read simultaneously an other one, and have tried the two possibilities I have: "Mappeur de son Microsoft - Output" and "Sigma Tel Audio" (the PC portable internal so...

Re: Selecting and deleting audio between labels. [SOLVED]
The ability to label "silent" regions (region labels in "Silence Finder") would make the task much easier. On the other hand, this is a case where the ability to "invert labels" would be useful (replace existing labels with new labels in the non-labelled regions). Enha...

Re: Batch editing Metadata
you might want to change tags and edit the audio at the same time. Perhaps I'm missing something. If you want the export process to be interactive, why would you want it in a Chain? If this feature was added, there would be a high risk of breaking existing user Chains. (it would be extremely annoyi...
