Re: How To Record Line-Out?
Which version of Windows and which version of Audacity? Please see the pink panel at the top of the page. I want to record podcasts and sample youtube videos. Basically anything that is coming out of my speakers, rather than capturing input. Which speakers? Your computer speakers? Then you have to e...

Re: Lose of crash on electronic drumkit-recording
I'm recording from an electronic drumkit with the Roland TD-9 Module. I've connected the headphone-output to the microphone-input on my MSI GE70 laptop Which is likely to lead to poor quality and isn't stereo if it was intended to be (both left and right are identical in your sample). If you must d...

Re: Unbalanced strereo channels
You can use Effect > Normalize... with "Normalize stereo channels independently" enabled to give left and right the same peak volume.

Re: Auto Export-Selected
Im with Steve in being -1 on this. In case it's not clear I am -1 also. I think there are lots of cases where you want to export all (Export) but preserve the current selection. I could perhaps see a Preference to hide Export Selected Audio, so that Export exported the selection (if any) or all (if...

Re: Find out the total number of tracks, muted and solo
Most users simply won't have media utilities installed, or realise you can right-click a file in the Audacity file browser, or realise you can right-click a column in the file browser and display file properties like bit rate and sample rate as extra columns. Cool Edit had a checkbox to enable the f...

Re: Replacement for E-MU 1616
You only have to try 2.0.6-alpha once. I think there is some chance that WDM-KS could help (you would select Windows WDM-KS as the Host in Audacity). if I'm understanding the function of ASIO4all correctly, it might be a solution to someday having more than one A/D interface? However, since it's an ...

Re: Unable to Record in Stereo with Audio Interface
I just got back from Radio Shack with two of those adapters. Plugged them both in the front of the unit in the Inputs marked 1/L and 2/R, but still I have the same issue, Audacity will only record in mono. Personally I am not surprised, I did not really understand Koz's point. Exactly where were yo...

Re: "Opening" files
Proposal File Menu Reorganization : One detail is that you will be able to open a wav file, and save it back to a wav file, so the confusing distinction between save and export largely goes away. That'll do :D Does the confusing distinction go away for "opening" MP3 and other formats? Gale

Re: Playback or projects created on another PC
Are there any errors shown when opening the projects, if so what do the errors say exactly? If you see no errors, quit Audacity, restart it, open one of the projects then post the contents from Help > Show Log... . When you copied the projects from the other computer did you copy in any imported WAV...

Re: Can't save project, paths in logfile weird
I had trouble saving a project of a single 4h recording in mono, 24-bit, 96kHz. I saw the posting regarding the "large file problem" and realized I wouldn't be able to open it anyway in 2.0.5, so just did a flac export instead. At 96000 Hz you can save about 6.2 hours per track as a proje...
