Re: HOW DO I REMOVE CRACKLING SOUND FROM CASSETTE RECORDING?

It sounds like the input volume is too loud. Choose View > Show Clipping. Do you get red lines where the speaker is? If so the voice is too loud. Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and give us version of OS X and version of Audacity. What is the make and model number of the cassette p...

Re: audacity 2.0.5/Vista iMic only recognized mono

Set iMic to Line.

Have you followed the steps at http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... #rinstereo to set iMic to stereo in Windows?

Are you on Windows? What version of Windows? Have you chosen Blue in the input box in Device Toolbar ?

Are you close enough to the mic?

Re: Changing the length of more than one audio file in same

I would suggest as an alternative Stretch audio to a specified length then you won't have to keep changing the length control in the effect. It's a Nyquist plug-in - see Download Nyquist Plug-ins - install for how to install it. It does change the pitch as well as length, though, which you may not w...

Re: Sound but no recording

What version of Windows? Windows doesn't automatically play the audio input through the computer speakers. in Device Toolbar the important thing is that you choose the Line in (Realtek) as the input device (third box). You also need to turn the input slider up in Audacity (the slider to right of the...

Re: track with a specific time frame

Note this may not be absolute silence when you export because Audacity may add very quiet dither noise - see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... tml#dither .

Re: Appending Tracks

There is no excuse for it although it appears the post above tried to give one. For the record, I actually support Audacity having a punch-in recording feature. ;) Gale Me too Gale. Do you know if this is in the pipeline for a future release of Audacity? Not in the pipeline as such, though future c...

Re: Add a tab to the instruction book

I tried to remove one of your unslicks yesterday by adding a clear link for Audacity downloading to the Manual's Front page. Is that now a slick? I think that its slick for the on-line manual, but not so slick for the downloaded manual. I agree, but we don't want to be post-processing the dumped on...

Re: Add a tab to the instruction book

An aside here - I'm pondering why on earth we promote obsolete unsupported 1.2 on the front page of the alpha Manual :o  :?: "Click here for legacy 1.2 documentation. " it says in the light green box :!: You would be surprised how many still use 1.2 e.g. the people who like to see m...
