Re: Audio selection
Thanks for those suggestions. I have looked at them but they don't work for what I am doing. I am editing a single stereo track. I just select portions of the audio to delete, fade in/out, amplify, etc. and I really only need a line to go all the way across the 2 channel waveforms when I am selecti...

Re: Urgent help needed with a corrupt .bin audio file
Was what you are recording anything to with public transport to Gatwick Airport? If so I suppose it is possible the file contains some audio if it was associated with a note about Gatwick Airport. If so all you can try is header replacement like Trebor suggested (you can do it with a hex editor). Ot...

Re: problems recording cassettes
This does not appear to be anything to do with audiobook production so I moved this to the Windows board. I record vinyl all the time through my audio technica turntable. Now I want to record my cassette tapes. For some reason audacity won't allow it. Everything is set up perfectly and i've tried ad...

Re: Highlight scroll right/paste file export names
Thanks for the report. 1) has already been fixed in our source code. 2) has been partially fixed - whatever you paste will entirely replace the contents in the box regardless of the position of the cursor or selection. By the way you don't have to type the names in 2.1.2 - you can right-click or CTR...

Re: Easy way to put Selection Toolbar info into export filen
If you can see a good way with the current system to record negative votes We could write: Feature short description: [ votes +10 | -2 ] Long description ... Optional dev notes. but if we are going to move over to a Q2A system then I don't think it's worth the time/effort to change the current syst...

Re: Audio selection
Also, if you have a selection in one track, and want to move that selection to the track below so you can work on the selection in that track, you can do it with the keyboard sequence ENTER, down arrow, ENTER (assuming the upper track already has the yellow focus border). See How do I extend or move...

Re: Urgent help needed with a corrupt .bin audio file
What do you mean by have a look? Which version of OneNote do you have? Does Audacity normally import OneNote's BIN files? They are unlikely to be any PCM-based uncompressed format, which is all that Audacity's Raw Import can use. From what I can see OneNote finished recordings "may" be WMA...

Re: Easy way to put Selection Toolbar info into export filen
thanks again for pointing in this Nyquist direction for this workflow optimization request. Frew, do you want to "vote" for a built-in solution, so you don't have to use an optional piece of script? That script will be lost if you ever need to reset your pluginsettings.cfg file, even if y...

Re: Easy way to put Selection Toolbar info into export filen
because Frew is satisfied frew is clearly in favour of the feature, and is satisfied because the feature is now available in their one personal copy of Audacity, but it's not available for anyone else unless they happen to stumble across this thread. If we consider feature requests only in terms of...

Re: meter level control
I am having incredible issues with trying to set the recording level which won't let me adjust so records very low ? I choose the preference tab and have selected as low as 5 but still the meter level remains unchanged. I am using the windows 10 and the latest audacity 2.1.2. I have used your progr...
