Re: Time Shift Tool Data Entry
Mac Mini OS-X 10.9.4 Audacity 2.0.5 There is no data entry for the Time Shift Tool, is there? "Delay this track 25.3 msec." By extension, there's no way to write down the delay for later on a different song? If you want to insert silence, this can be done with Generate > Silence or you ca...

Re: can hear MIDI but can't record it (reprise)
That doesn't sound like an Audacity problem. Have you checked Pavucontrol has not jumped to headphones or another playback device? I found it prone to that in Ubuntu 13.10.msd123 wrote:When the MIDI is playing, Pavucontrol shows no evidence of this as all (as if its being bypassed).

Re: New LV2 plugins coming from Harrison
LV2 support is now available in 2.0.6-alpha and will be released in the next 2.0.6 version of Audacity if it passes testing. If you use LV2 plug-ins, please test 2.0.6-alpha and report any problems in this thread. Latest pre-compiled builds of 2.0.6-alpha are available for Windows: http://gaclrecord...

You can also connect a cable between audio out and line-in and record line-in (if you have a separate line-in and not only a mic in).

Re: undo/redo history
The next 2.0.6 release of Audacity when it comes out will have Move Track to Top and Move Track to Bottom in the Track Drop-Down Menu.Tapehead wrote:Is there a way to send a track directly to bottom or top - as in navigating a webpage - other than duplicating to bottom, dragging or track up/down?

Re: HOW DO I REMOVE CRACKLING SOUND FROM CASSETTE RECORDING?
I am having trouble uploading WAV file as they are above 1M If you just drag-select five seconds of distorted voice in the blue waves then do File > Export Selection... and export as WAV, the file will be less than 1 MB. have uploaded it to dropbox but unsure not to link it to this forum You would ...

Re: NoiseRemoval.cpp
7) Doing Get Profile in a project at one sample rate, then doing Remove Noise in a project with a different sample rate, does the wrong thing. I don't yet have a test case but I predict this. The program ought to check for this condition and just refuse to do it, I suppose. Because the assumption i...

Re: can't import mp3 files from my computer to Audacity
Thanks. We can't really explain or help further, but "misspelling" a file name does not matter unless you changed the "extension" after the last dot in the file name. You should avoid that - if you know it is an MP3, don't change the extension. Rebooting the computer can often he...

Re: Vinyl conversion using Audacity
Your computer ideally needs a separate line-in (blue) to connect to an output of the conversion machine. If the computer only has a mic in you will be worse off connecting to the computer - the recording into Audacity would distort. If the computer has a "compatible" mic/line-in like many ...
Re: File Type
If you tell the burning software to burn an audio CD (which is what most "boom boxes" or "music centres" will want), yes the software will detect problems such as you have a DVD or the CD is not writable or needs erasing before you can burn your CD tracks.
