Re: opening audio from USB
I am working on a sound recording project on someones laptop, so am transferring the files to my computer for mixing. It is a single audio file, and have been using the process of SAVE AS> Then saving to the usb. However, I cannot seem to open the project on my computer as a whole project, instead ...

Re: Slight change requested at FAQs
Question 6 at http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_how_to_s.html#top is "How long can I record for?" I spent quite a bit of time looking for maximum "recording length" in the forums, then in the FAQ, since that's what I wanted to know about. Perhaps this question c...

Re: FFmpeg message suddenly appears after years of use.
You chose a format that requires FFmpeg .skinjohn wrote:After exporting files for years, including just hours before, without changing preset preferences, suddenly I get "Properly configured FFmpeg is required to proceed." What happened?

Re: Audacity for Surface 2
There are unofficial solutions online, not approved by Microsoft or Audacity.JoshinYasha wrote:I misread my hardware then (listed as Windows RT 8.1). Are there plans to adapt Audacity to Windows RT?
Audacity does work with Surface Pro 2 which comes with 64-bit Windows 8.1 (x86 architecture).

Re: "Error: Not well-formed" - Can't recover help!
Here is the file attached below. When I open it in audacity there is no sound at all. That file is identical to the one I repaired. There is nothing in the file that explains why the project opens silenced, and if the data was "missing" the log should show that. Please try to recover agai...

Re: Allowing 'Compressed only' projects
In http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=250817#p250817 I meant to say that the idea you quote below 2) seemed to make sense to me (I corrected that post). 3) (not tidying up undo/redo files after closing an edited compressed project) is really a bug as I see it. 2. Reopened compressed proje...

Re: Allowing 'Compressed only' projects
Yes, that works fine. :D I'll keep the copy folder, but just trash its contents after each time I use it. Just one further question - I make a copy, but this time I do an edit. I save the edit back to the copy folder as a Compressed Copy I move the .aup and Ogg Vorbis files back to their original f...

Re: Cannot Create Click Track (Re-Installed/Scanned Plugins)
I thought last year when we were discussing this, you said new versions would come with auto-correction for latency? Is that still a possibility? If it were, it would make variable latency a non-issue (assuming Audacity corrected it specifically for each take, rather than just making an average or ...
