Re: Changing Usernames?
?If you provide the option for a user to change their username then it is really good, they can change their name to their wish. If one is an active participant then definitely one will get bored with seeing the same name. OR else please include the option to send the request for changing the usern...

Re: How To Remove Skips
I thought that the Truncate Silence effect might be what I was looking for too but when I tried it, it did not seem to remove any of the moments of silence (I set the length range from 80 ms to 150 ms which definitely includes all the silences I looked at manually). There is no range so I think you...

Re: Bizarre playback error in Audacity 2.0.5
The Audacity programme, directory and projects are saved to my C: drive, I've only been importing/exporting the .wavs from N:. I suggest you open Edit > Preferences: Directories and double-check that the Audacity temporary directory is set to somewhere on C:. Perhaps I was rash in choosing to read ...

Re: windows 7 - AUDACITY 2.0.5
I also need to change language to English. (My one is in Czech, I do not know why. Probably this machine knows, where I was born). Audacity chooses its language according to the language you have Windows Region and Language "Format" set to. If you still need to change Audacity to English,...

Re: Digitizing vinyl collection
Glad it was fixed. But to be clear for others, the setting to change is "Audio to buffer". The default of 100 ms "should" be OK for most cases. The "Latency correction" setting is for pushing back recorded tracks after overdubbing against existing tracks. That setting w...

Re: Bizarre playback error in Audacity 2.0.5
It's not a good idea to save projects or set the Audacity temporary directory to a networked drive. It's a terrible idea to record to a networked drive. It's too slow. Use a local or external hard drive. Look at Help > Show Log... . Are there errors there? What happens if you Edit > Undo back to whe...

Re: How To Remove Skips
It would however be better to find and fix the cause of the skips. See Managing Computer Resources and Drivers - Audacity Wiki .

Re: windows 7 - AUDACITY 2.0.5
Simply run any desired command... Thanks for reply, Robert2. When I click on "RECORD", the machine tells me: Error while opening sound device. I am afraid, this is beyond my computer skills. Look in Device Toolbar at what recording devices are in the third (input) box. If the third box is...

You can use View > Toolbars then uncheck any toolbars you don't like to remove them.
You can also drag and rearrange toolbars .

Re: Bizarre playback error in Audacity 2.0.5
It sounds like you are out of disk space or the drive you saved the project to is corrupting itself.
