Re: Easiest way to reassemble wav files after export?

Thanks for the well-crafted and timely reply! This is exactly what I was attempting to do. The only suggestion I would have to improve the process is to have some sort of option - select track or tracks - and then have the ability to "add silence from time = 0 to start of track(s)". That ...

Re: Understanding the file_data folder's audio list sequence

So the main .AUP file got corrupted. It was a 16 hour audio file Is this project at 44100 Hz project rate or higher? If so it is too long for 2.0.5 - in that version of Audacity the maximum length per track is just over 13.5 hours at that project rate. eventually after enough tries (and repeatedly ...

Re: Recovering aup files from v 1.2.4

Open the old projects in 1.2.4 then export WAV files for each track in the project.

Then import those WAV's into 2.0.5.

Re: Question about playback volume

Make sure you have not turned the -....+ gain slider down on the Audacity track before you export. If you import the problem files back into Audacity and the waves are tall then the problem is in iTunes. Right-click over the problem files in iTunes and make sure you have not turned their volume adju...

Re: Level the total volume of a file?

You can try Effect > Leveler... which is easy to use but you will only get a small amount of leveling before you start to hear distortion. Otherwise try Effect > Compressor... or you can try a third-party compressor plug-in (see http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Compressor#alternative ). Gale

Re: To disable Metadata editing.

Sorry about that. The problem with removing cover art is logged on our bug tracker and I will record your "vote" for this problem to be fixed. No textual metadata is removed, but tags other than the default ones are changed to "user-specified" TXXX frames on export. Players that ...

Thanks, that was default value.

Reducing the buffer normally runs the risk of causing dropouts, but sometimes lower settings are required on Mavericks with Audacity.

Re: inputing from my computer

I did a test inputting audio by speaking into the computer that audacity is on, and it worked fine. Now I am trying to create a new test track doing the same thing, and I do not get any sound-- none seems to be recording and none is played back. If you want to hear the previous tracks while recordi...
