Re: Audacity won't overwrite files, even when told to
OK, so playing around last night, I checked a few files in the folder that's been acting weird and that I haven't yet adjusted and, yes, they were marked as Read Only. When I removed this in Properties, then exported them from Audacity, I wasn't seeing the dupe files. When I just loaded a bunch mor...

Re: Export Multiple Track not multipl-ing
Make sure you are using Audacity 2.0.5 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . I'm running windows 7/32-bit. This is a fresh install. I have correctly made four single-track stereo project files. I have labeled each song using Edit->Labels, and have made sure the labels are on each segment, ...

Re: Made copy, deleted, which deleted original file -> recov
If you must make a copy of a project using the file manager, exit the project, then create a new folder. Copy the AUP file and _data folder. Paste into the new folder you created. The problem you had is that you did the copy in the same folder, which means you must rename the project. Basically the ...

Re: Missing Audio Data Block Files?? HELP
Well I went through the log and found the files; and once I found the files Once you found what files? The AU files in "1000 years_data"? I discovered I had saved over the original files thinking I'd saved over the bad ones on my desktop. I can't make sense of what you mean. You were maki...

Re: Help I lost a 2 hour recording!
Please post the AUTOSAVE file from Users<your user name>AppDataRoamingAudacityAutoSave. To see that folder you may have to show hidden files and folders. See: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-see-hidden-files-in-windows/#win7 for how to do that. Also attach the log from Help > Show L...

Re: LOUD Buzz - I haven't even started yet!
Found & enabled 'Stereo Mixer' in Windows. Clicked on Input Monitor Level in Audacity, purely out of curiosity, & almost permanently lost my hearing due to immense WHINE, which filled the room until I disabled 'Stereo Mix'. What am I doing wrong now? Probably you have Transport > Software P...

Re: ASIO Multi Client Wrapper
I managed to compile Audacity with ASIO support, and everything works fine selecting the ASIO4All device, but when I attempt to select the Multi Client Wrapper (that would allow Audacity to share control of the sound card with a low latency MIDI Synthesiser) it crashes. What exactly is the Multi Cl...

Re: Vista / No Stereo / Mono only / EasyCAP
Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel and ensure that the device is set to record in mono, then restart Audacity. As I understand it, trickywoo was wanting to record in stereo. I can’t change the USB device microphone setting to stereo (the 1 channel setting is greyed out) Which setting is greyed...

Re: Sudden slowdown
Suddenly, all the edits take a long time to process, and my audio file is no longer than 24 minutes, with no more than 2 multi-tracks. I read somewhere on this forum that it may have something to do with a caching system being enabled, which I need to disable. Where under preferences can I find thi...

Re: Easiest way to reassemble wav files after export?
Perhaps a single option for Export Selected Audio would do "Always render leading/trailing space as silence" Do you mean "Always render selected leading/trailing space as silence" ? Yes I do, given that option only exports the selection. The challenge will be making that wording...
