Re: No Audio or Amplitude
when I open or import a file there is no amplitude and therefore no sound. Look at Edit > Preferences: Directories. Make sure the Audacity temporary directory has several GB of space and that you have permission to write to that location. If you need to reinstall Audacity, ensure you enable "R...

Re: Recording issue, help plesae
If it helps, the settings are MME, Speakers/Headphones (IDT high), Integrated Microphone Array (ID) and 2 (Stereo) Input Channel. And there's your problem. You want to record from the USB tape player but you are choosing the internal microphone of the computer to record from. So choose the USB Audi...

Re: Cannot see line-in or stereo mix
I had read something fairly early on that told me NOT to use WASAPI, so I was blowing right by that in the manual. And they were correct, for someone recording vinyl to Line-in of the computer. ;) You would want to choose Line-in in Audacity's Device Toolbar if you could, rather than record playbac...

Re: ASIO Multi Client Wrapper
You can actually aggregate non-ASIO devices in the ASIO4ALL control panel, as I understand it. "Multi Client Wrapper" is the other way round - it allows multiple applications to access one device. Yes, I got that but didn't explain what I meant fully. I was just wondering if it was a non-...

Re: inputing from my computer
I think I may need help beyond this forum, and I understand from another post of yours that you are willing to take control of the computer and work directly with the client for a fee. I would be very interest in such an arrangement. for ongoing support. I tried reaching you at gaclreconrds.org.uk/...

Re: ASIO Multi Client Wrapper
What exactly is the Multi Client Wrapper - a software application? It's a hack by Steinberg that may (if it works) allow multiple applications to access the same ASIO device at the same time (otherwise multi-client support requires hardware mixing to be available in the sound card / audio device, w...

Re: Can't load FFMPEG library with newly compiled Audacity
Exactly what version of Audacity have you compiled? If you compiled HEAD, Audacity will require a shared build of FFmpeg 1.2 or later. Try http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/ . Gale I've compiled the HEAD version, yet none of those libraries can be loaded. I've decided to (temporary?) give up ASIO in...

Re: Sudden slowdown
Basic edits such as "cutting", "pasting" and applying effects like "normalization" and "amplification" feel like they are taking too long. The Release Notes http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.0.5 say: In projects containing an hour or more of t...
