Re: Audacity: seulement 2 choix dans le menu entrée enregist

I now think you meant you have "Windows NT 6.1" which is the same as Windows 7.

Is it a microphone you have to plug-in?

Right-click over the microphone and choose "Set as Default Device" (whatever the equivalent in French is).

Then restart Audacity.

Re: Recorded tracks sound overlapping

I have recorded some tracks from a USB turntable. The last recorded tracks have sounds from the previously recorded tracks. Press Solo on one of the tracks. Do you only hear that track? If so, the problem is only that multiple Audacity tracks stacked above each other play all together. If Solo show...

It can't possibly do that, given the variety of device names ;) Glad you can record now.

And I strongly recommend updating to the latest Audacity 2.0.5: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows .

There is not enough information in your posts ;) . What version of Audacity and what version of Windows? See the pink panel at the top of this page. You may need to go through all these suggestions http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Managing_Computer_Resources_and_Drivers . If you are on Windows XP, ...

Re: Where to select non-standard devices?

Do please upgrade to Audacity 2.0.5 from http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . I assume your fundamental issue is that your new machine doesn't have a mute/unmute for the Line-in on the playback side. That would give you no latency monitoring. Have you right-clicked over the speaker icon by the...

Re: Help I lost a 2 hour recording!

Please post the AUTOSAVE file It says the uploaded file is empty when I try to attach it... And it won't give me an option to recover the project! You said before that Audacity tried to recover the project, but the track was empty. So there must be content in the AUTOSAVE file, unless you closed th...

Re: recording next day

but also export mp3 of the session too so if anything goes wrong I can stitch together all the mp3 recordings No ;). MP3 is lossy encoding. Use WAV for backups, which is lossless, as is the audio stored in Audacity projects. If you export MP3's and have to stitch them together and re-encode them as...

Re: Cannot see line-in or stereo mix

So to minimize the risk of dropouts, should I instead use software playthrough? No you should never use Audacity's software playthrough when recording computer playback. If you cannot get Audacity to see "Line-in" I think you now have as good a configuration as you can get. The recording ...
